The Christmas spirit embodies this selfless love, devoid of financial considerations, but it should be the spirit of every day, just a natural love that does what grown-ups should do. Love isn't something that can be bought or sold. So, in order to find the Christmas spirit, in order to find genuine love, we must offer what we have, since being happy with what we have is freedom.
That sensation of being in the moment appeals to me. Allow the pleasures of simple things to bring me sweet happiness, a feeling similar to thankfulness and amazement. It is our joyful memories that sustain us, that carry us through challenging moments, and that reminds us that our happiness is valuable. Confidence that turns it into a camera flash moment, a sliver of time that becomes etched in glad recollections. The photos capture the sweetness of my days, as well as the genuine warmth of the holiday season, spent with friends.
My brother told me a joke about this shot, and I remember it. He claimed I wore my hair in a tempting way. I was hollering because the wig I was wearing reminded us of the singing group the Temptation when you looked at it. You'd think I was one of the group's members. I was laughing so hard that tears streamed down my face, and I urinated on myself a little. My brother always had a good time commenting on the images I showed him.
These images are simply channels for my favorite memories, the ones that aren't quite spectacular or traumatic enough to leave a lasting impression on their own. They bear witness to the wonderful souls. The image was sung with the soul's beauty, a moment that had the power to lift the spirit for life, and an ever-giving sensation of loving hope.
