Steemit Philippines Photography Contest Week #2 : 2020 Year End Family Photo

It started a few years ago, I requested that we get together as a family for our year-end family photo and my siblings agreed, and our first photo together as a family was a success. We took those photos at a resort here in Anda, Bohol.

By the end of 2020, we decided to keep it simple and stay at home, like how this pandemic had kept us at home. So, this photo reminded us of a lot of things that had happened that specific year, the pandemic year, the year which affected a lot, not just health-wise but also the livelihood of different individuals.

Looking at this image made me thank God for:

• the two babies added to the family, Amari, and Matti
• the gift of good health
• the shelter we live on
• the parents who are still active and enthusiastic
• the love that binds us all

There's no perfect family but what's important is the respect and love that we have. There are many times that our family had encountered problems within us but I thank God for giving us a forgiving heart, a heart that follows what the Lord wants and that is to glorify Him through our actions, forgiving one another as what Jesus displayed when during His ministry here on earth.

True enough, there will be challenges coming our way, in the first place, this is not a perfect world and this is also not our home. So, we press on and continue to show love and grace to each one just as God commands us to do.

Be by blood or by paper, we are family and we will not let that be ruined by earthly lies but push for what is good and pleasing to the Lord.
