Carpenters originally intended the song to be only an album cut. However, after country singer Lynn Anderson covered the song and it became a number two hit on the country charts, they reconsidered.

This song was so popular on the radio stations plus that year I was a 4th year student in high school, we just commute in going to school and going home. I always rode or select the jeepney that have a stereo and this song was always on until I memorized the song. Here is the Lyrics.
