Gardening Mode On!

Last year I had several post about how my family and I grow our very own fresh veggies in our very own home. As I always mention the harvest was not much each time but at least it made a contribution to our daily food. As a little background we started gardening during the pandemic in 2020 and up until now we still have plants though not that many compared to when we started it.

The previous months, I got preoccupied with a lot of things that at times I forgot to water them. :D Thanks to the rain! It did the job for me of which I know our plants were really happy!

So today, I just want to give you a little update to what's happening in our little space with the recycle water bottles and our living plants!

By the way, weeks ago, I already dispatched all of our Lemon plants. We told our neighbor friend to bring it to their little farm lot and give the Lemon a new home. The Lemons can not grow freely here because we don't have the ground to plant it. We just planted it in a old water bottle. They were one of the plants that we had since we started and got the seeds from kitchen scrap! And can you believe it, it has grown into almost a tree!! There were actually four of them. One by one I gave them to friends who has the space for a bigger plant or even a tree.

Lemon plants with our second daughter. (photos taken months apart). First photo, pot used 5 liter water bottle. Second photo 5 gallons container. My husband and I transferred it to a bigger pot. Then eventually gave it to our neighbor. We bade goodbye. Our neighbor told us once it will bear fruits, he will let us know.

The Existing Ones...

These are bell peppers, they are not that healthy though but they survived last year's super typhoon Odette. :D

The last standing eggplant. It's been around my garden for almost two years I guess or more. Very generous in bearing fruits!

Mint! I need to transfer this to a bigger pot. It's existing pot seems already small for it.

Basil! Another variety of Basil.

Kalamansi! Got its seeds from kitchen scraps too! These needed bigger pots too.

These are chives and lemon grass.

There you go! If _sipagin ako ulit_ I will plant new ones. :D Gardening actually became one of my favorite thing to do during the lockdown except of course of my vlogging journey. It became one of my subjects too in my blogging 'career'. Just like with this blog, I am glad that I was able to tell you about it.

Gardening also taught me and my family to recycle and help save Mother Earth in our own simple way. The pots we used here are all recycled water bottles and cans. It also taught us, that no matter how small your garden space maybe, one can really grow his/her own food.

All of these plants survived after the typhoon Odette hit Cebu. :D

Do you love gardening too? or do you have a garden at home? I would love to know them in the comments below.

Thanks for reaching this far and until next time!

Love,

Met
