Kumusta sa tanan nga naa diri sa Steemit Philippines!
Sana po ay sabay nating harapin ang umaga ng ating mga matatamis na ngiti!
A morning smile brightens a sleepy heart and clears a messy mind.
I have been rested for a while. But now I'm here again its because I miss my steeming moments.🥰😊
Added to it is also the internet connection in the place.
Today I am sharing my special moment here , my hometown visit to my father.
Its good that the travel was successful. Me and my sister had been planning it for the last two months and even last year. But due to health protocols and restrictions it failed.
So now here I am going to my hometown in Madridejos , Cebu a place in Bantayan island in the far northern tip of Cebu province.
As I stepped on the bus I am more than excited to see my papa Sayas. He is 87 years old strong and handsome just like his grandsons.
In the afternoon we started to travel going north of Cebu. We bought some fruits with us like grape , oranges and apple to charm my father's tastebuds, since at his age food are difficult to appreciate. But he was very happy to know that we brought with him a kilo of grapes because it is very expensive in the island.
For almost 4hours of land travel it was raining and it was hard for me to take good pictures. Since it was dark we decided to drop by my brothers house in San Remegio , we were invited for a dinner. And decided to spend a night there.
By early morning , we headed to the seaport to ride a roro boat.
As I stepped on the island I could feel the sweetness of my childhood memories .
The smell of the island calmed my spirit. If only I could bring this place to my workplace but its impossible.
We rode in a tricycle , they called it tri-jet , a towner's term of a modern tricycle. We passed by wide grassfields and cornfields and cows and goats.
Our island is known for its poultry egg production and dried fishes.
Maybe because I am overwhelmed I forgot to take more pictures.
And native houses in bamboos and nipa roof.
I have seen people and we were the only ones wearing masks and face shields. Everything seems normal now a days. The birth of healing the global pandemic is born in the island. The air is amazingly clean and fresh .
As we arrive in my father's house , we were met by his wife . Since my beloved mother passed away many years ago. We understand that my father needs a companion to look after him and provide him the care he needs.
And of course, my most awaited part, our lunchtime.
My hometown lunch was this"Pinaupong Manok" fried in oil.
And a long hours of chit chat with my father.
Then by he afternoon , to give way to my cravings , I bought some fresh squids and cook it . The taste of this seafoods here in the island really fascinates me . Or I am just used to it so my taste buds really knew the "pusit" is from our place.
The people here can even eat this in fresh raw dip in hot chili vinegar sauce.
I had a good night sleep that day, after . The next day waits for its adventure.
This is all for now. Thank you for sharing your time with my day.
