¿Son tan inteligentes los animales?#story |
---|
He dicho. Procedamos a votar, que decida la mayoría.

Are animals really that smart?#story |

From the bottom of the ocean to the top of the Andean peaks, delegates from across the animal kingdom had joined together in a video conference, which had already been going on for three days. The reason was to decide on a vital issue: Should they reveal to humans their ability to communicate with animals?
A pink Amazonian porpoise, with a soft and melodious voice, was about to finish its intervention: "My brothers and sisters of the aquatic world, we have watched with sadness how these humans pollute and destroy our homes. If they find out now that we can talk to them, their behavior will get worse." His proposal received thousands of likes, hearts and thumbs up.
The lion, taking his turn in front of the camera, showed his look full of indignation and wounded pride, and roared loudly. "Humans have taken away our freedom by forcing us to live in cages and circuses. Do you think that if they knew we could talk, they would treat us better? Idiots, they would enslave us even more. Likes and OKs filled the entire screen. Someone sent a meme: “Humans do not have the natural intelligence of animals.”
It was the turn of a huge black Rotweiler, representing man's best friends. Despite his imposing appearance, he was perhaps the one who offered the most balanced position. Dear attendees and delegates, our species has lived among humans for ages and we know them well. We believe that revealing our secret to you would be a mistake. And I will tell you why."
The dog paused and continued: first, humans are slaves to their emotions. If they knew that they could speak to us and we could respond to them in their own languages, it would definitely affect their emotional balance, they would rush to isolate us in laboratories, the relationship with them would never be the same.
Secondly, he continued, they would not rest until they obtained our knowledge and natural intelligence for their own purposes. Imagine the atrocious persecution they would initiate.
Last but not least, natural intelligence is a gift that we must protect. Humans have their own form of intelligence, based on reason and technology, that which is now called artificial intelligence. We, animals, have a more intuitive intelligence and in connection with nature.
It was the turn of the last speaker in charge of calling for a vote, the oldest land tortoise on the planet, who, from the Galapagos Islands, began her presentation with her calm, slow and wise voice.
I agree with my predecessors. Humans are a very young and still immature species. They are not prepared to handle this knowledge. They could use it to manipulate us or even to extinguish us, they have believed that they are the crown of creation and they will not give up their place to animals.
I just remind everyone of the prophecy written eons ago. It will be us, the “irrational” animals, who will rescue them from the madness they will fall into, that trap they themselves set: becoming slaves of the “intelligence of machines”. Let's not get ahead of ourselves and leave things like this. Otherwise all life would be extinguished.
I said. Let's proceed to vote, let the majority decide.

Bonus reason: The sad truth: humans seeing themselves as the crown.. Wise words making me laugh
That title.. I had doubts if I would click, it misleads but the #story hashtag at the top did it!

What to think about all those animal whisperers? They sleak the language of dogs, horses, pigs or chicks. 🤔
As a child I had (still have it) a book about 2 talking cats. An ill girl taught them how to speak during her sickbed. I always found it fascinating. 😁

A fable that is also interesting, my dear friend, very accurate, since nothing is more accurate than humanity's hatred for animals. They call them irrational, supposedly that is what differentiates us from their race, but I have seen my species commit atrocious acts that I have never known from an animal.
When I read What was manifested by the little dog, it made me very nostalgic, because recently my pet was run over and I still miss him with my soul, I don't cry every day.
I applaud your great publication. Kind regards.
