Hey there! It's @ddrfr33k and @chiren, with a post that a lot of people have been waiting on. You're probably wondering if Vimm is moving along with everyone else to Hive, and we're here to set the record straight: yes, we are moving to Hive. Or are we? Well, we created a poll to find out what the community thinks. It went up on the Discord first, and the results have been pretty much unanimous.
So at this point, the majority of our community wants us to move. We're still going to monitor the poll up until the point of the hardfork, but for right now, it's looking like we're going to move.
There, that wasn't so bad, was it? Well, there's more to it than that. We also need to make you guys aware of some things, so that the transition is as seamless as possible.
Most of the work will be done on the back end to ensure that we get everything up and running smoothly. So you guys don't need to worry too much about that! However, there is something you will want to do.
Set up a password on Vimm if you haven't already.
This is especially important for those of you who use Steem Connect to log in. We don't know how long that's going to be active, and we don't want you guys left high and dry when the change happens. It's in the "My Account Settings" section:
If you don't have a password already set up, it should ask you to set up email verification, and then create a new password. Please note that you do need an email address linked to your Vimm account, as well. We use this in case you forget your password, so we can send you a password reset link. That's all we use it for. Okay, and sending out our newsletter when we remember to do so. For the people that opt in to receiving the newsletter. And now I'm rambling again. Moving on!
Currently, we are using Steem Engine for managing Vimm Gems. With the fork to Hive, we will need to move our tokens accordingly. We will be working with Steem Engine to keep the transition as seamless as possible. Our goal is to keep the Vimm Gems intact as they are, so you don't have to worry about losing anything. Because you're not going to lose your Gems. And that's that!
But yeah, that's all for this post. We're going to have lots more to talk about soon, so make sure you're following us! And don't forget to hit up the Browse page and see what our streamers are up to!
EDIT: I realized I forgot something very, very important. I forgot to include the poll!
Dammit man! So I was hoping ya'll could continue to serve some of us who will remain or at least use both platforms. This sucks and may affect who I use to stream .

And we will be sticking around for a while on Steem. At this point, we're going to suss out which chain works best for us, and then go from there. So when you go live, you will make posts on both the Steem and Hive blockchain.
