BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD

Desperate times calls for desperate measure.......

Trust we are doing just fine today.....

The COVID - 19 pandemic season seems to linger longer than we expected and with the third wave having hit our country and the virus more deadly than before, the Lord was reminding me that there are times when He will not get us out of a tough season as soon as we desire because His will has to be accomplished in every situation. The Bible has examples of many Bible heroes and heroines who had to go through very trying times so that the will and purpose of God concerning them would be accomplished and that the Lord may be glorified. Though these men and women of faith were tried and tested, they endured to the end. I hear them repeatedly saying to themselves and to the world the words of God in Psalm 46:10; “Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

Shadrack, Meshach and Abednego in Daniel 3 had to be thrown into the fire furnace because they could not compromise, but God kept the fire from burning them. I truly admire their faith in God in the midst of the challenge at hand and their boldness in answering the king: “Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and He will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if He does not, we want you to know, O king that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up" (Daniel 3:16 – 18). They were simply saying that they will be still because they know their God is God and that He will be exalted in this matter.

If we too know this, then we need not fear what is happening within or around us. Like Jesus sleeping in the boat, we can have peace in the storm because we are assured that all things are working together for our good. Let us open our spiritual eyes and be alert in the spirit to realize the new thing that the Lord wants to do in our lives. His word in Isaiah 43:19 says, “See I am doing a new thing!...do you not perceive it?” May we not miss out on the blessings wrapped up for us in tough seasons because we focus on the pain and uncertainty rather than our God who in the midst of every storm releases a rainbow of newness. I pray that no matter the challenges, we will align ourselves to the will and purpose of God for the season as we continually hear Him saying to us “...and surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

God bless you.
