Leadership is in no doubt a very paramount aspect of our existence which is required to be well sustained by our manners or character . Character in the other way, is a moral or mental quality that defines an individual. It takes determination, emotional maturity and courage to become a leader but takes character to sustain or mar your leadership position and qualities in life be it in an economy circle and other areas of life.
We are all leaders in our respective niche be it within our family confinement, society, private or public organization, and others, but if we lack the rightful character, then we are more than closer to lost our leadership value.
Owing to the above statements, I'll like to use this medium to outline some of leadership qualities that's very paramount for our success in our respective niches. Kindly follow me as i proceed. These include;
1. Vision
Leadership entails vision. Where there's no vision, abuse is inevitable and people perish, treasures are dashed into the ocean. A Leader should be visionary, having the blueprint of the goal that demands his position.
2. Humility
A leader is expected to be humble and approachable. Humility is a virtue that should never be undermined. When a leader is not humble enough to attend to his followers, potential conflicts will definitely be the order of the day in the long-run.
3. Courage
A leader is expected to be courageous. He is expected to be effective, cognitive and psychomotive in his dealings. He is not expected to show any sign of weakness even when he is emotionally down because it builds insecurity in the mind of his followers.
4. Integrity
A leader is expected to be truthful at all times, shun corruption and build a good personality and reputation before his followers. Let people know you for what you stand for. Never compromise your integrity.
5. Strategic Planning
An adage states "if you fail to plan, you're planning to fail". Strategic planning is very important as a leader to succeed with your followers thereby achieving your desirable goals and objectives.
6. Cooperation.
Where there is unity and singleness of purpose amidst a leader and his followers, success is inevitable. A leader must cooperate with his followers and see to their needs to ensure development and achievement of the Organizational set goals.
7. EMPATHY
Before taking any drastic decision regarding a situation on someone, it's always good to put yourself in the person's shoe. Don't do to others what you don't want them to do to you. Show love and be guided.
