From the first day I stepped a foot into Federal Polytechnic Nekede Owerri, I knew I wasn't going there just for the certificate, I knew that I wasn't meant to be in IMSU(The house of talents) but Nekede, I knew and believed that everything that happens does for purposes, for our good.
.
During my first semester in Nekede, I saw no talents at all. I wanted to join a Writer's Club but found none and then a thought flew into my mind- "why not create yours, Amara?".
.
I waved off the thoughts because I hadn't enough courage to show what I have got. Then, I hardly talked to my course mates.
.
Towards the end of the first semester, I had a course mate's notebook which I was going through when I came across a story written in one of the most beautiful hand writings my eyes have ever met.
"Who wrote this, Amaka?"
.
"I did. Why?" She asked.
.
"Nothing. I will tell you something about this story later." I told her as I stood gathering the courage to tell her I write too.
.
.
.
Second Semester.
.
.
It all started like a joke. I never knew it would come to this.
.
.
I was in the ceremonial ground someday in June when some guys came to talk to us. They were Adoh C and Emmanuel Osuji. I walked up to them and told them I wanted to create a Writer's Club and my idea was welcomed. They promised they were going to be of help. Up till date, I still haven't been able to figure out where I got the courage to talk to them from. I later realized it was PASSION. It was then I realized that LIFE actually starts from outside one's COMFORT ZONE.
.
.
I needed a voice and a helping hand and God fetched me Grace...She's the best heart I have met in Nekede since April 2015.
.
.
. ....
The idea of creating a Writer's Club began to grow like a seed planted beside a river. I couldn't stop it from growing; the passion boosted it, I couldn't kill it. I had no other option than to let it grow and blossom like a flower.
