THE DIARY GAME: 17/8/2020: STILL PUSHING FORWARD

Dear diary,

It’s a brand-new week. I did not feel like going to work today because of tiredness from yesterday’s programme. I came back 12 midnight.

But how do you stay back from work on a Monday! I had to stand up and get ready. By 9:19 a.m. I was in the office, very late, right? Everyone were already on seat as I got there.

I started by ensuring that all material mill certificates from the 3 jobs we completed last week are arranged by the DCC into it’s respective folders.

My coming into the picture was because they were confused about which one will go for which. But actually it’s easy if you use the visual weld inspection report.

Every information is in the report. I had to show the secretary how to trace it, just in case of next time.

That sorted, they needed to know the welders that did the jobs so that they put their certificates in the folders. Normally we put photocopies of these ABS welders’ certificates in the folders.

Including the certificates serve as prove that the welders who did the job are qualified for that job.

Also included was the welders register. This is a list of all qualified welders, but I had to update the register for each job. By updating I mean writing active against the welder’s number that did the job and inactive against the welder’s number that did not do the job.

I hope you understand this, guys.

While doing the register, I discovered some errors in the register. Some welders that did not do the job were included. Which means I had to also update the visual weld inspection report I had already finished two weeks ago.

I started updating immediately and signed it.

After the reports and register was updated and printed, I had to go to the workshop to inspect the welding machines remaining from our last mobilization. We need to be sure they are in good condition for other jobs.

Mainly, what I checked was the due date for subsequent calibration.

That is how it was today.
