Word for Today

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” (Isaiah 26:3)

As a believer in Christ, when you encounter negative circumstances, the aim is to 'steal' your peace. Yet, while you expect negative circumstances to change for good, you can be at peace.

Galatians 5:22:
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Peace for you as a believer in Christ isn't because all is going well, it's a fruit of your spirit. An example in scriptures of being at peace despite contrary circumstances is Jesus Christ.”

Mark 4:37-41
“And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”

A great storm arose beating into the ship that Jesus and His disciples were in, yet Jesus was asleep on a pillow. The disciples who were anxious at this time went to wake Him saying, "Master, don't you care we perish?" Perish? How? They forgot Jesus was with them. They forgot His words before they entered the ship. See verse 35: And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.” Jesus didn't say, "Let us enter the ship and perish," He said, "Let us pass over unto the other side." All the disciples needed to remain at peace was to stay their minds on; trust in Jesus' words. Jesus arose and said to the sea, "Peace, be still" and there was a great calm.

Dear believer, today, Christ is in you (Colossians 1:27) and you have the Word of God. Hence, you can look at contrary situations and say, "I refuse to 'lose' my peace. I remain at peace. I stay my mind on the Word."

Blessed, are you. God loves you. Yes, you!
