Samantha, friend of mine who I simply call Sam got married in 2019. She was my classmate back in high school and the news about her wedding was one that came as a surprise to everyone. Reasons being that she was always unserious about anything that has to do with a man or relationship. She was solely in the "chop life gang".
Despite the fact that we got surprised, the entire class of 0'13 supported her in every aspect and her wedding was successful. After the wedding, wishes kept coming in and she got the best wedding she ever dreamt of.
Sometimes, Sam would chat me up and give me gists about the entire experience of being married; the things she's missing about being single and the things she's enjoying as a married woman. I was always enjoying the discussion until one day, when the subject of discussion changed completely.
Sam told me she's having a feeling that her husband is having an affair. It sounded odd to me and I told her to stop the imagination. Her husband from what I saw looked absolutely responsible and wouldn't be involved in such a mess.
Sam would always bring up this matter everytime we're having a discussion and I kept telling her to stop, unless there was enough evidence. To her, she thought confronting her husband would be the right thing to do but at the same time, she said the man would lie.
One day, Sam told me she knew how she'd get the evidence that she needs. I couldn't possibly figure out how so I asked her how she would do that. Sam said I shouldn't worry.
It never occurred to me that she was going to pay someone, a whore to go seduce her husband and get him do the things she was suspecting him of. Such a stupid idea. Had it been she told me about such, I would have rebuked her.
Sam practically hooked up her husband with a whore but guess what happened? The whore came back from the first meeting to tell her that nothing happened, that her husband was just nice and friendly. But she's hoping that on their second meeting, the man will fall.
While Sam was narrating the story to me, she said that this lady called her the second day and told her she kissed her husband, then the third day, they made love. What trust issues can do! Sam was so mad at her husband. She thought it was the best time to confront her husband.
She went to the office, created a scene, embarrassed the man, only to discover that the lady lied. She got her money and played her. The man has never engaged in any conversation with her not to talk of doing all the things she said. But the truth is that the damage had already been done. Sam was asked to leave the house.
She came begging that I should help plead with her husband. She didn't trust, she didn't sense the truth, she didn't even know her husband.
I have heard people severally saying that trust is bad. They'll say, "Trust no one". I've wondered why? Sometimes I do think that we should trust to an extent; And then select the people we choose to trust.
Had Sam knew the kind of man her husband is, as well as the things he would do and the ones he'd not, she would have avoided the trouble she landed herself into.
Trust with limit, trust carefully. Not everyone should be trusted and you shouldn't let lack of trust lead you to danger. Everything should be done cautiously. That's how to overcome temptations.
