club5050 | What Is Supercomputer?

Friends, it's supercomputers today!

We call supercomputers computers that can operate in parallel, are built with thousands of processors, and have high-capacity computing power with special software. The first supercomputer was developed by Seymour Cray in the 1960s.

In the beginning, only processors were used in these computers, but in recent years, video cards have also been involved and supercomputers have been used more effectively and in more detail on a visual basis.

The hardware and software we know is not used in supercomputers. Specially developed software is used along with processors, ram memory, video cards specially produced for these computers. Instead of the Microsoft 10 we know, Linux or Unix-based special software are indispensable for these computers.

The processing power of supercomputers is measured in the unit FLOPS (Floating Point Operation Per Second). These computers, which have hundreds of thousands of microprocessors, can perform trillions of operations per second. For example, 7 billion people need to come together and calculate in sync in order to be able to do the work done by Sunway TaihuLight, one of the world's best supercomputers, in one second. However, this is not enough because the process that takes one second of it will take us years.

So, what are the uses of supercomputers whose budgets are based on millions of dollars?

This computer has military and civilian uses.
Nuclear tests come first among military purposes. Thanks to the nuclear weapon simulations developed with these computers, countries can perform cleaner preliminary tests instead of throwing a bomb somewhere and seeing how well it explodes. In this way, they can have detailed information about the effects of the bomb on the place where the explosion took place and the spread of radioactive material.

Apart from this, they can also be used in the production of biological weapons. In addition, these computers are very helpful in cryptology, password creation and password cracking in the defense industry of countries.

In addition, fine details such as the distance of planets and orbital changes can be obtained in the field of astronomy.
Supercomputers that can perform very effective operations in the field of medicine; It can perform tasks that require complex and daring combinations, such as solving the DNA helix, examining the brain structure, and designing drugs.
These computers are also used in the fields of geology and meteorology.

Finally, let's end our article with a historical quote from Seymour Cray.
"The important thing is not to design a fast microprocessor, the main thing is to develop a fast system."

Ha! Yeah. With these computers, you can play many games such as GTA V, PUBG, CS: GO, FARCRY 5 at the highest graphic levels, change the game by interfering, and at the same time make the right investments for your future and learn your social media notifications before they arrive.
