Diary (20-12-2024) || "I am irrigating the potato field for the first time, but the irrigation has stopped because the engine broke down."

Irrigation is a very important step for crop production. Today I have to start irrigation work in my cultivated potato field. I woke up in the morning today, I don't have a diesel-powered water pump, I have to borrow a diesel engine from a farmer I know. I called him on my mobile in the morning and asked him to send the engine in a van and he did so. The van brought the diesel-powered water pump and the engine to my potato field. We took out the water pipe from the ground near my field. We cut off the upper part and set it there at home and installed the engine.

Irrigation

We will supply water to distant lands through plastic pipes, so we first need to lay the plastic pipes. The three of us finished laying the pipes and started the machine.

We had to stop the engine 4 times to irrigate the water till noon due to leakage in the engine pump and water extraction was disrupted. I broke a pressure while tightening a nut near the pump, as a result, we could not extract water today. We have to repair the engine pump and then extract water. My brother opened the pump and took it to the workshop, so our irrigation work is stopped as of today.

I came back home and took a shower and had lunch. We planted corn seeds and I went to our corn field to see if the seeds had germinated. The corn seeds we planted had germinated and turned into a one-leafed plant.

A cat is very attentively waiting for prey (rat) next to a rat hole in the wasteland next to my land. I also stand at a distance with the cat for a long time waiting for the rat to come out and the cat is able to catch its prey but I can't wait any longer. I don't know if the cat caught the rat later but the cat has shown great patience. We repaired the water pump at night and I have to start irrigation again in the morning so I have to finish work like today and go to sleep quickly and wake up very early in the morning.
