Transport is an important means by which people move from one place to another and all goods are exchanged. Transportation in earlier days was limited to foot, bullock carts, horse carts, camels, boats etc. In the current modern era, many improvements have been made in transportation, including buses, trains, launches, aeroplanes, etc.

What kind of fuel is your country's transportation powered by?

In Bangladesh, transportation is operated with different types of fuel. For example:
Diesel: In Bangladesh, buses, trucks, boats-launch-ships, trains etc. are operated with diesel.
Gas: Bangladesh gas is used for transportation such as motorcycles, microbuses, CNG etc.
Electricity: Metrorail is one of the electrified transportation in Bangladesh; there are also autorickshaws, electric cars, bikes, etc.

Which of the modes of transportation is more popular in your country?

Our Bangladesh has various types of transport systems, such as road, sea, rail, and air. Passengers and goods are exchanged on all routes, each one dear to the other.

  • The most used transport in Bangladesh is road transport because road transport is spread all over Bangladesh like Buses, Private Cars, CNG, Rickshaws, Motorcycles, Trucks etc. As a result, it is very easily accessible.
  • But railways are at the peak of popularity because travelling by train is convenient. Both time and cost are less.
  • Also, there is a lot of transportation on the river by boats, launches, ships, steamers, speedboats, etc., but it is limited due to the lack of rivers in all places.
  • People also choose to travel by air, those who are rich and want to save time travel by air.
Tell us about least three of transportation that exist in your area.

Below are the three modes of transportation from my area Dhaka:
Bus: I live in Dhaka city, so I have to travel by bus more. Dhaka city is a populous city, about 2 crore people live there. Most people do their essential travel by bus. Buses are at the top of public transport in Dhaka city.
Train: People choose trains to travel far from Dhaka city. Because trains can reach faster than other modes of transport and cost less. One of the reasons for the rush to travel by train is that Bangladesh has a lot of traffic jams, so people feel more comfortable taking the train.

Launch: People travel a lot by launch from Dhaka Sadarghat to different places in the country like Chandpur, Bhola, Barisal, Patuakhali, Munshiganj, etc. The advantage of travelling by launch is that the cost is also lower, more cargo can be carried, and the scenic beauty and fatigue-free journey can be enjoyed.

What is the cost of transportation used in your area?

The cost of transport mainly depends on the distance to be transported, type of vehicle, time etc. Our bus fare within Dhaka city starts from a minimum of 10 takas to 120 takas; if you go outside Dhaka city, the cost will be higher. Train fares within Dhaka city range from Tk 10 to Tk 50, but travelling from Dhaka city to other areas will increase the cost. Traveling by metro rail will cost a minimum of 20 taka to 100 taka. Also, there are Pathao, Uber, Autorickshaw, CNG, etc., the cost of which mainly depends on the distance, time, etc.

I invited them to participate in the beautiful contest @mahadisalim @enamul17 @mostofajaman.
