Hello friends how are you all? Hope everyone is well.
Assalamu Alaikum everyone.

I live in Uttara, Dhaka for almost 7 years now although my hometown is Gazipur. Due to Gazipur railway junction, I often come to Dhaka airport by train and see hundreds of people standing on both sides of the road, although we are all very busy. Everyone wants, first we go and then the train will go, although sometimes we have to stand and let the train go even though there is no option but to stand because the railway accidents are serious and people often die in these accidents.

Today I will show you some pictures of the side of my house and I will show you the picture before the train came.

Train is coming but people are not aware of

In front of our house, two more railway lines are under construction. It can be seen that many people move here. I travel myself. Many people think it is safe to walk along railway lines. But in most cases, it is seen that when the train is coming from both directions, they do not understand and move to one side and fall under the train. In addition, many people stand on the railway lines and talk on mobile phones or put headphones in their ears. There are also markets on many railway lines in Bangladesh. In my opinion, a large part of the annual death by rail is in Dhaka district.

"We have created a very dangerous idea that railways and human life can co-exist. Pedestrians and shops cannot co-exist with vehicles that take a kilometer to stop".

People want to cross the railway line when the train arrives. A slight negligence can lead to death. Even while wearing earphones, talking on mobile and chatting with friends, life has to be done.
Today I saw many children playing on the railway tracks. As soon as the train whistled, the run started. As soon as the train leaves, they start playing like before.

They are flying kites, some of them play ludo on their mobile phones while sitting on the railway line, some of them talk on their mobile phones in their minds, some of them come and sit in the sadness of their hearts, and some of them again. Come and sit for a breath of fresh air, some spend the afternoon talking to the stones, some sit and eat delicious food with puffs, again, boys and girls are seen walking hand in hand on the railway line and sharing their dreams. But what is the rail line for?

After searching a little about children, I found that an eight-year-old child named Mohammad Shamim died after being hit by a train in Moghbazar Wireless Gate area of the capital in 2022. The tragic incident took place in the afternoon when the child was playing on the railway line. Yet children's sports have stopped?
The Railway Act of 1890 prohibited the movement of people within 10 feet on either side of the railway line. Even if cows and goats enter it, the railway authorities have the power to sell them at auction. Railways can file a case against that person if someone is injured by a rail cut. Despite having so many strict rules, why do more than a thousand people die every year?

People are crossing though train is coming

Illegal shops are set up on both sides of the busy road above the railway line. Anyone can sit with a shop if they want. No action succeeds because there are no tough policies to remove these markets and shops. The administration should be stricter in eviction of illegal structures on both sides of the railway line. Otherwise, the accidents will increase as the days go by.
