When I woke up from bed It was already on my agenda that i would go to the market to purchase some items needed to prepare a delicious spue for the house.
I am currently living with a priest of God and am the one doing almost everything for him, so we don't have soup and he sent me to ikom market to purchase the ingredients needed to prepare it.
Having some chat with my fellow buyers
My experience wasn't good at all because I am not good at bargaining prices with sellers, any amount that I they tell me is what I pay and my mum make jess of me because sometimes I get cheated 😅.
When I arrived at the market the prices of good and services have really increased and I was very surprised, I thank God that I took more than the money that I budgeting for the market incase of necessity and it really helped me because the prices have drastically increased.
The location is a local market called ikom, located in cross river state, Nigeria.
Items | Prices in Naira | Price in steem |
---|---|---|
Meat | 5,000 | 11.1 |
Punkin leave | 1,000 | 2.2 |
Fresh fish | 3,000 | 6.7 |
Water leaf | 700 | 1.5 |
These are the items I bought and it was very difficult for me to purchase them at that rate as I had to bargain with the sellers my money will not be enough if I don't bargain with them.
The first items that I purchased was the meat, the man that I went to purchase the meat from is my mums customer and when i got to his place I describe my mum to him and he quickly her and he cut the neat very well for me he was very that I came to his and I was also happy because he gave me exactly what u needed.
One of this fish cost 1,500 naira
After purchasing the meat I went to purchase Fresh fish needed to prepare stew but when i got there the prices was way beyond my budget so I had to walk round the market to make sure that I see that one that I can afford, luckily for me I met a lady and her prices was better than the rest so I bought the fish from her and I was happy because my shopping was gradually coming to and end after a hectic day.
I saw a woman who was selling Punkin leave close to the lady I bought fish from and I went and purchase the vegetables from her we had a good conversation together and I was very happy because her energy matches with mine.
A bundle of this leave cost 1.5 steem
The last items that I purchased were water leave. This is a special leave that I used to prepare soup in Nigeria because it adds taste to any kind of soup.
Something I usually buy for 50 Naira is noe sold for 700 Naira. I was very shocked and surprised, and other customers were also surprised as well.
We were all complaining, but we had no option but to buy them at that rate.
After purchasing everything I went to for o my way because I decided to have some rest at my favourite eatery, which is known as Crunches.
I went there to relax myself and all of a sudden my system starter craving for sharwama and i order for it quickly, it cost me about 2,700 Naira which is equivalent to 6 steem and a bottle of coke which cost me 500 Naira and it's equivalent to 1.1 steem.
I enjoyed myself very well because life is too short to, now that I am alive, I try to enjoy my life to the fullest.
My experience was quite enjoyable because I had some good conversation with my fellow buyers and we were all saying the same thing die to the bad economy of our country things keep getting worse I wonder how it will be come end of the year.
I am gradually learning how to bargain with customers courtesy of my mum who always tries to send me to the market to purchase items for her.
Although my day was stressful but also memorable as well because I had a good shopping degree.
I am inviting @simonnwigwe, @radjasalman, @josepha, and @jyoti-thelight to participate in this wonderful contest organised by @@@ripon0630
