Contest 📢 : My memories of 2024

What is your best moment in 2024? Briefly tell us.

Every day in our lives comes with its ups and downs and we stand strong to overcome with a positive mindset. However, some years are full of joyous memories while some are filled with sad realities and in all as Christians we thank God for divine mercy upon our lives.

One of my best memories of 2024 was when I got an orca on Steemit. It was like a dream to me because when I joined the Steemit platform, my goal was to get what could assist us in paying even electricity or water bills during the COVID-19 pandemic.

It took me 4 years plus on the platform with commitment and consistency, giving my all to achieve this level. It was not an easy ride but I thank God for the strength, resilience and above all the support I got from everyone.

Do you think 2024 was the best year for you? Give reasons for your answer.

It was somehow a good year but as well could be considered one of the darkest years of my life. Notwithstanding, the good tidings overwhelmed the darkest days.

The Reasons Why 2024 was one of the best years of my life were as follows:

• First, I was able to achieve an orca status on Steemit. This makes the year one of my best years.

• Secondly, my family was blessed as my kid sister was able to complete her house and move in. It was a huge success not only for her but for the entire family as we were all joyful and celebrated in grand style.

• Thirdly, my village has been without a traditional ruler for over 7 years now due to socio-political crises and succession disputes in the clan. This year, there was a compromise and a new ruler was Appointed by the elites and presented to the government and the population. It was a joyful moment in 2024 as there was joy on every villager's face.

• Lastly, the year was crowded with my elder sister being promoted to the rank of associate professor. The first-ever female professor of the entire clan and family.

The only thing that made the year one of the worst years of my life was when we lost our brother due to heart failure. It was one of the hardest pills to swallow us and to date, it's like a dream and I wish to wake up from that dream to meet my brother again. The sad reality is that he has gone for good until we meet again to part no more.

What special thing will you miss in 2024?

I will miss my Starlink satellite internet connection. It was one of the special things that helped me achieve a lot within the online space. The speed of the connection is just perfect for me to work online freely.

Unfortunately, the monthly subscription package has been tripled. It will be difficult for me to continue with the newly updated monthly subscription package. I am forced to pause it and return to our local internet connections.

Are you happy about the arrival of 2025? Tell us about your special plans for 2025.

Of course, every New Year is welcomed with excitement while setting goals to be achieved throughout the new year.

I was super happy witnessing another new year and had set my goals for the year. I pray God to lead me through to achieve these goals.

What do you want to achieve in 2025 and why? tell us.

One of my goals for 2025 is to purchase a plot and build my own house. We had purchased a plot but with the recent security challenges in my region, I intend to relocate next year and buy a new plot and build my own house in a different region where my kids will study freely with no sounds of gunshots. I'm tired of landlords' brouhaha.

The last thing I want to achieve in 2025 is buying a car for family use. Moving around with three kids in public transport is challenging and buying my car will ease all the stress and we move around freely.
