SEC-S10W2: My favorite cake "Vanilla and Banana Cake".

Greetings to friends of the steem4bangladesh community, and welcome to my blog as I share my entry to the week 2 engagement challenge, season 10.

The topic for discussion this week is all about “My favorite cake”. This is a form of desert that many love and I am not indifferent. I will follow the guiding questions provided in the contest post to share my perspective regarding “my favorite cake”.

Which cake do you prefer and why?

I always prefer vanilla and banana cake to any other cake. The reasons I like banana and vanilla cakes are as follows:

• Banana cake is good because of its low sugar content. Banana is used as a natural sweetener, not like other cakes that have a high sugar base.
• The vanilla cake also has low sugar and carbohydrates which makes it good to consume as it is healthy for the heart.
• The texture of both vanilla and banana cakes is soft and has a good flavor that makes me salivate each time I see vanilla and banana cakes.
• The taste of vanilla and banana cake is mouth-watering.

What is your favorite cake that you make at home?

My favorite cake I prepared often at home is the vanilla cake. I love banana cake but I have not yet learned how to bake it well. My friend who is a baker often bakes banana cakes for my kids.

Vanilla cake is what I always prepare especially for my kid's snacks at school. Every after two weeks, I bake vanilla cupcakes.

Items required to make this cake and the procedure?

The following are items I used for baking my vanilla cupcakes.

• Flour
• Vegetable oil
• Baking powder
• Sugar
• Eggs
• Vanilla extract
• Milk
• Pinch of salt.

Notwithstanding, recently, I do not waste any time doing all the measurements to prepare the ingredients. There is an all-ready mixture in the market I buy and each pack gives me 24 cupcakes. I prefer this as it serves me time to prepare the cake.

The procedure for preparing the cake is written on the carton and is easy to follow even for first-time bakers.

However, before I used to beat my eggs with milk and vanilla extract, add a pinch of salt and sugar, and combine until I get the desired mixture.

I add my flour and baking powder and mix until I get the desired batter.

I placed my tray and put in the paper baking cups and filled the batter.

I preheated the oven to 350 and placed the tray in the oven. I lowered the heat to avoid too much heat that can burn the cupcakes. The baking time takes at least 15 minutes, and my cupcakes are ready.

What special occasions do you usually make or order cakes at home?

When I am preoccupied with much work and have no time to bake, I order cupcakes for my kid's snacks.

I equally ordered cakes during my kid's birthday or offer them to a friend as a gift on their birthdays.

It is a good dessert for me as well, especially at work when I have no time to go out of the office to eat at restaurants. I prepare my cake and take it as dessert.

During school days, I prepare cupcakes for my kids to take to school during their lunch pack.

Why do you think cake is so popular compared to other desserts?

Cakes to me are popular desserts consumed due to their sweet nature. It kind of tickles our taste and helps with digestion.

To me, cakes stimulate happiness in our body because of the presence of serotonin in cakes with high carbohydrates.
