SEC-S15W2: "My School Life

Someone said that since their parents forced them into kindergarten, they have not rested till now, and I can totally relate.
However, as much as school is tough and challenging, I will also say that it is one of the best phases of my life. School life is fun, tough, and, of course, educational. You get to meet different people from various walks of life, hear different opinions, get loved, get hated. You get to improve, learn, and understand concepts that a layman would not.

School life is a wonderful phase that everyone should experience.
Since I am in the university, I will change the subject to a course. Please note.

My favorite course is entitled 'Stylistic Analysis.' Stylistic Analysis is taught in level 400, English department at the University of Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State. Stylistics studies the way each writer (or speaker) characteristically assembles features of phonology (sound pattern), graphology (writing systems or patterns), Lexico-semantics (vocabulary and meaning), and grammar (word structure/phrases, clauses, and sentence patterns), as well as the way the reader (or hearer) makes meaning or interacts with these features.
Stylistic Analysis, according to my observation, is a complete and detailed summarization of everything we have been taught for the four years. Like I was telling a friend last week, the horizontal relationship between the courses we have studied is very obvious. It touches both language and literature. Under language, we have phonology, generative syntax, morphology, etc. In literature, we have touched drama, novel, poetry. Stylistics is giving me a new pair of eyes to see literary and non-literary works. And I am so glad that I am opportune to learn this.

My favorite friends in school life are Edidiong and Blessing. I had met them in my first year. Despite how many we were from the start, these two have proven to have my interest at heart. They love me and always support me in all ramifications.

Although we have misunderstandings, we never let them linger. They are the best sisters I never had.

My favorite teacher's name is Dr. Bassey Garvey Ufot. He is a pure linguist and a stylistician. He is so committed to his teaching and is ever ready to make you understand what he is teaching. He knows how best to carry the class along and ensures we understand. When he marks, he marks critically without allowing an error to pass, and returns scripts back to students so they will know and correct their mistakes. Here is a proof of how he marks.

How will I ever forget the Most memorable day of my life. The most memorable day was on July 8, 2023, when I received a 'C' in a course I thought I would fail. You could be wondering why I would be so happy that I had a C, I will take you back to what preceded this;

The script was collected from me after writing and answering only two questions because the invigilator thought I was talking. I cried and cried, only for the results to be out on the 8th of July. I got a 'C' instead of an 'F.'

For School life picnic, I have gone on picnic outings with my dear friends, Blessing and Edidiong. We go for picnics when we are done with exams to celebrate and have fun. Sometimes, we go with other girls, and we have colour themed picnic. So fun.

I still can never forget this day, fresh like yesterday. The Saddest day of mine in school was so painful, that I fell sick: July 12, 2023, was the saddest day of my life. I had an 'E' in a course I thought I would get an 'A.' I cried and cried until I had headaches. My head began to ache, and my face was swollen. But thank God, I am alright now.
However, I have gotten better and I always want to prove to avold anymore sad days, that why I am always reading reading reading. Spot me in the library. Thank you.
