Hello dear friends...
I'm so delighted to participate on this wonderful contest organized by @solaymann in this wonderful community.
Discrimination refers to the act of treating, prejudicing, marginalizing, excluding disadvantaging an individual unfairly or differently because of their religion, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, disability etc.
Discrimination is seen as a plague or affliction on an individual or group of people leaving them in pains and scars, often they don't have right to exercise their franchises in our community because of their social imbalance,
Discrimination is not something that can be managed or tolerated, it caused underdevelopment,and perhaps results to skirmishes in our society.
✍️Have you ever been discriminated against? Or saw someone being discriminated against?
I've never been discriminated, if that eventually happened too but maybe without my notice, but publicly nope,
But I saw someone been discriminated because of height, he even narrated the whole story to me, it was a Nigeria police force recruitment, just the recent one, where he went for his screening they did not even care to attend to him because of height issues, though he wasn't that short he's average, even at that it becomes a barrier for him,he was totally embarrassed by their judgment,it was painful for a passionate citizen to be embarrassed that way.
✍️What will be your steps to prevent discrimination?
Of course there are so many measures that need to put in place in other to prevent discrimination in our society today, which are as follows;
Creating strong awareness; Educating our citizens on the need to tolerate one another in the society, and about the effects of discrimination,and the needs to put an end to it,
Government should establish a policy that highly promotes equality and fairness.
Encouraging people to shun any act of discrimination and and promote tolerance and equality, and if anyone found should be reported and face the consequences,
There should be no excuses of any forms of discrimination by any person regardless of status or background,
Note; In an attempt to prevent discrimination it requires unending efforts and absolute commitment from everyone's in the society.
✍️People for people. Explain the statement.
People for people also connotes "Human helping humans"
The statement is highly associated with the importance of treating our fellow humans with deep affections, kindness, empathy and understanding, to support one another for the well-being of our society.
✍️Give some advice to the discriminators.
My advice to those who discriminate is that;
They should try to view things from another angle if you are been maltreated, discriminated,how are you going to feel, considering the pain and utterly disappointed,
So develop a habit of treating your fellow human being with respect, dignity and kindness regardless of the status or background,
Learn to always apologize where necessary, especially if we harm others with our words or actions, let's apologize and make amend, for peaceful coexistence,
Finally, we all have potential to build and make amends, to make our world a better place to live for everyone,so let's strive towards creating strong bonds,a comprehensive and compassionate world for the good and well-being of every member of our society,regardless of status, religion, ethnicity, disabilities etc, because discrimination is a deadly poison.
