Dinajpur's Ramsagar is one of the historical and archaeological monuments of Bangladesh. Ramsagar attracts many local and foreign tourists every year for its historical foundation and natural beauty. The Ram Sagar watershed, situated on the roadside about 8 km due south of Dinajpur town, has an area of ​​77 acres, but with the surrounding dune banks, the total area is 147 acres. The main ghat of the 150-feet-long sandstone-bound Dighi attracts everyone's attention. The depth of Ramsagar is about 30 feet. The water in this deep lake never dries up. The lake was excavated between 1750 and 1755 AD during the reign of Ramnath Alivardi Khan, the famous king of Dinajpur.

It is said that the king dug this dighi to provide employment and water to the drought-stricken people at that time. At present, its reflection in the lake, which is decorated with numerous plants, and the vast body of water has created a stunning scene. More than fifty thousand tourists come to Ramsagar every year to enjoy the wonderful beauty and scenery. Various plans are currently being taken for the overall development of Ramsagar under the initiative of the government and under the supervision of the district administration.

Seeing the still, clear sea-blue waters of the Ram Sagar will make anyone feel better. There is a wide paved road all around the main dam. It is truly amazing to walk along the road and enjoy the closeness of nature while witnessing the beauty of Dighi. It will take about two hours to explore the entire Ramsagar on foot. However, visitors can rent vans or rickshaws and go around if they want, and there is no need to have a car with them. You can see the beauty of Divya Ramsagar just by sitting in the car. On one side of the paved road of the Ramsagar National Park, the blue clear water of the Ramsagar Lake and on the other side the lush greenery of the high hills. Various types of plants are found all over the hills. There is always a festive atmosphere in Ramsagar with the chirping of birds in the trees. During the winter, the waters of the Ramsagar Lake create an enchanting environment with the chirping of thousands of aquatic guest birds.

Ramsagar is our historic and oldest archeological site of Dinajpur. Which is an important resource of our country, so its maintenance and conservation is our sole responsibility.
