Assalamu Alaikum steemian friends, hope you all are well. By the grace of Allah I am also well. So after a few days I came again to participate in the SLC competition. We were guided by @imranhassan and @rmm31. They joined as a team to mentor this repair club. So with many thanks to them I will show you step by step.

In the 2nd room of our house, my parents have a tabin fan on the table. It was not run much during the winter. But my younger brother used to run the fan sometimes but charged extra. Suddenly, the fan fell from his hand to the lower floor. Then it is unable to run on DC connection. But it can run directly on AC line. So brought it to my room and tried to repair it. After opening all its parts, we find out the problem. It has a burnt negative line wire coming from the battery which causes the DC disconnection. So I re-insulated it and connected it. After that it is working as before. So I will give all the steps to repair it in picture form.

The specifications of this fan are given

Fan NameSuper King
ModelSK-2389
Rated Voltage220-240V
Input watt24 watt
Rated speed1200 RPM
Frequency50/60 Hz
Type of motorDC
Number of blade03
Now I Am Going To Start My Repairing Step

Step-01 :- I found the fan from our other room not working and brought it to my room. I turned on the switch. But the fan did not move. I switched off and on again. No, nothing happened this time either. Once I unplugged it and left it for a while, if the battery was charged, then I plugged it in again, but nothing was working. When I couldn't find any solution despite sweating, I gave up and sat quietly in front of the fan.

Step-02 :- Now AC connection line should be provided. So I put the fan next to the board. Basically I did not understand whether the battery charge is over or some other problem. I put the plug in and pressed the switch and immediately the fan started spinning. I stared at the fan for a moment.

Step-03 :- Now it is understood that the DC connection is broken. So without delay I picked up the screwdriver. I started to open all the screws of the fan one by one. As if I am a skilled engineer. The first screw came out fine, the second came out easily. But the third screw is sitting tight. Sweat ran out, but after trying hard, I took it off. Now it's time to look at the internal parts of the fan.

Step-04 :- Now I started checking everything with my mind. I looked at the wires going from the battery to the motor and that's when the real mystery was revealed. Basically the negative wire is burnt. It is completely black and silent as if it has lost its life long ago. This is the problem so if this wire is not fixed the fan will not run on DC connection.

IMG_20250223_141420.jpgI separated the burnt part

Step-05 :- The negative wire is completely burnt, nothing will work like that. So I cut the burnt part with a pliers. Then I twisted the plastic cover on both sides with my fingers so that the copper wire came out. Just peeking through the small thin copper wires seemed to be half the job done. Now just connect it properly and the fan will start running again.

Step-06 :- After cutting the burnt part, the copper came out from both sides. Now the real work is to connect them. I twisted the copper wire on both sides slowly with my fingers. Tighten as much as possible without loosening in any way. Now just wrap it with tape.

Step-07 :- Now take a piece of electrical tape and slowly twist it over the connection. First one circle then another. I continued to tape until the entire connection felt secure and tight. At the end, I pressed it once with my finger and saw that it was completely frozen.

Step-08 :- After installing everything properly, I installed the screws of the fan one by one. I checked with my hand whether everything is fine or not. Then take a cloth and wipe the switch and the fan thoroughly. As if old but looks brand new. Then I switched on and the fan started spinning.

My battle with the table fan began on a summer afternoon and I thought it would never go on? After the DC connection burned out, it seemed like there was nothing more to do. But then I thought I might as well give it a try. So I slowly unscrewed, cut the burnt wire and took out the copper part, then patiently taped and finally fixed everything inside the fan. After putting all the screws and cleaning them nicely and switching on, the fan started spinning smartly. It was a real success for me to be able to repair the fan.

So this is how I repaired my fan. It was a very simple task. It didn't cost me any money to repair it. I first showed how to remove the screws, then identify the burnt wire, then cut and reattach. I have recorded everything step by step so that anyone can easily understand it. Then I finally caught the moment when the fan started on the camera. Then the fan turns, the wind blows and I give a successful smile. Edited everything properly and uploaded the video to YouTube. It seems that not only a fan, but today I also rediscovered my skills. Below is the youtube link to repair the fan wire.

So I am Inviting my lovely Steemian friends @stef1, @solaymann, @kouba01, @selina1, @edgargonzalez to Participate in this SLC Competition.
