A story of a farmer's hardships planting onions. For example me and my father.

Have to wake up early in the morning. Abbu called us and went to the field. He said that I went to the field to fix the land and you take the onions to the field in the onion country. I got up and freshened up, ate some food and started eating onions and put them in bags at home. This time there is a lot of price behind onions. About a week ago we got this besan. Due to frequent rains, sowing of gram seeds has been delayed. Besan has started coming out of the mill. So, if it is a little dry, hurry up to apply the salaries. Some of my family members including me have pocketed the salary at home.

Our onion land is about one bigha. So about ten Munishes have been seen to plant onions. They came alone and carried the sacks on their heads to the field. I also left for the field with a sack.

It takes about 30 minutes to go from our house to the field. When I reach our onion field, I see that the field is still being repaired. Many things need to be done to make the land suitable for planting onions. First, plow well with a tractor several times. Then they have to be dried. After that, on the day when onions are to be planted, the cultivation should be done twice again. After that, the ground has to be leveled with a ladder using cows or buffaloes.

Go and see that the land has been cultivated. Now the ground is being leveled by buffaloes with ladders. I kept the sack and tied three poles in the middle of the ground. Then someone started sprinkling onions on the ground. Before planting, it should be sprinkled on the ground so that it is convenient to plant onions.

To plant, the soil needs to be pulverized a lot. Otherwise, if it is hard in the field, the skin of the fingernails will be cut. If not, maybe it's time to put pears. We lined up and sat down to plant onions. Everyone sat in line. Now it is happy to bury the soil below.

After that, everyone started planting onions. We planted onions for almost two hours without any rest. After resting for a while, I started applying pears again. It was becoming very difficult to plant onions when the sun increased. A lot of sweat was coming from the body. Then I was asked to bring food for everyone from home. Then I left for home. I came home and told my mother to pack food. Mother served a large bowl of rice and curry. After reading a letter, I left for the field with food. Going to the field, I put food in a garden and called everyone for food. After that everyone washed their hands and face and started eating fresh. We all have fun and eat together. After the meal we all took some rest.

After resting, we all went to the land and started planting onions. At that time, the sky was very sunny at noon. A younger cousin of mine also went with me. He was very active, running around and playing. I had a drunkard and I put the drunkard on his head to escape the group.

After putting it on his head, he looks like a small farmer. Then I started to put the onion again and my fingers got cut while putting it in. Although the cut was not large, the cut was oozing and bleeding lightly.

I brought some grass from the neighboring field to the thorn and chewed it and put it on the cut. I have heard that doing this reduces the pain. Then I started adding onions again. After the installation, I packed everything and left for home. In fact, a farmer works hard to provide us with income. But we cannot give its exact value. We should give every farmer what he deserves.
