The Diray Game: 21/02/2025

Assalamu Alaikum" Hope everyone is well. By the grace of Allah, I am also very well. Welcome to my "Diary Game" Today I will share with you, some incidents of paying tribute to language martyrs with friends on International Mother Language Day on 21st February, offering flowers at Shaheed Minar and enjoying beautiful moments with friends. So let's get started -------

The morning of 21st February was different. As soon as I woke up in the morning, my mind was filled with emotions. Then I called my friends and asked them to get ready quickly. After that, we three friends went together to Shaheed Minar.

As soon as we got out on the street, we saw a crowd of people all around us. Bouquets of flowers in the hands of everyone, young and old. And the same song on everyone's lips, "The twenty-one February painted in the blood of my brother, can I forget?" This song seemed to evoke a different feeling in all of us. When I reached the Shaheed Minar, I saw that there was no place to hold the mole. Everyone is standing in a row and paying respect to language martyrs. We also stood in line to buy a flower for 80 taka from a van on the street next to Shahid Minar.

As we friends slowly reached the altar of Shaheed Minar, our hearts filled with reverence. It seemed that if it was not for the sacrifice of the language martyrs, we might not be able to speak Bengali today. Then after paying tribute with flowers, my friends stood for a while beside Shaheed Minar. The atmosphere around was very serious and emotional. Everyone was silently remembering language martyrs.

We friends have decided that every year on 21st February we will pay tribute to language martyrs like this. And this day is an unforgettable day in our national life, which always reminds us of patriotism.

walked out of Shaheed Minar and went to Sheikh Russell Park. Going there, the mind became very happy. Surrounded by green plants, flower gardens, and the calm atmosphere of the morning filled the mind. Coming out of the solemn atmosphere of 21st February, I found some relief in this lively atmosphere.

We friends sat on a bench in the park and we chatted for a while. They talked about everything from memories of the language movement to their future plans. We haven't had breakfast from home in the morning, so there is no decision for friends to have breakfast there. But there were no shops open around there. Then we went to a tea shop near the park. Sitting on the small table of the shop and drinking hot tea, our chat became more intense.

Sipping a cup of tea, it seemed like this day deepened our friendship. Such a chat with friends after paying respects to language martyrs, is truly wonderful.

On the way back from a chat and tea at Sheikh Russell Park with friends, a van on the side of the road caught my eye. The car was decorated with various items of February 21, such as small martyrs' minar, books on the history of the language movement, and many kinds of toys. For my nephew, eyes stuck to packets of different colored clay.

Nephew is small now, so clay is very useful for his hands. I went near the car and saw that there are different colors of clay. Bought a packet of clay for my nephew. My friend also took a packet of clay packets. The price of 1 packet of clay was 40 taka, we bought 2 packets for 80 taka. Taking the clay packets in hand reminded me of my own childhood. As a child, I also made many things with mud. It was great to buy the toys. Nephew would be very happy to receive the clays, he thought.

Sheikh Russell finished some shopping from the van on the street while coming from the park. We friends again went towards Shaheed Minar. Spent some quiet time there. The environment around then became quite calm. The crowd was also reduced. Then, as soon as he came out of the Shahid Minar, he suddenly noticed that a small stall next to the altar was selling a variety of babul sticks. I remembered to buy a babul stick for my nephew. I went to the stall and saw babul sticks of different colors arranged. I bought a babul stick of a color of my nephew's choice for 100 taka.

After buying babul stick for my nephew, we friends ate ice cream and fuchka from the shop next to Shaheed Minar. In the afternoon, it was cold and the ice cream brought a different taste. We finished eating ice cream and fuchka and were heading towards the auto stand to come home. Suddenly, a brother was selling cupcakes made by his wife on the side of the road. The cakes looked very tempting. We asked Bhaiya and Bhaiya told us that his wife made the cakes at home.

Then we bought five medium sized cupcakes. Each medium size cake was priced at 80 rupees, but on the occasion of February 21st, he charged us 60 rupees per cupcake. I saw a satisfied smile on Bhaiyya's face as we took so many cakes together. He said, they sell these cakes along with their other work. They have their own facebook page and they deliver their cakes online. After buying the cake and giving money to my brother, we returned home by auto.
