Historical importance of sculpture in Bangladesh

Bangladesh has a glorious history. Due to its glorious history, Bangladesh has produced many important sculptures. Each sculpture has a different historical glory. These sculptures have become very popular in Bangladesh due to their historical importance. A sculpture is a three-dimensional work of art that is physically represented in the dimensions of height, width and depth. It is one of the plastic industries.

There are many famous sculptors in our country. Syed Abdullah Khalid, Shamim Shikder, and Shyamal Chowdhury are the most famous among them. I want to write here some popular sculpture.

Aparajeyo Bangla Sculpture is a sculpture commemorating the Bangladesh War of Independence depicting three freedom fighters. It is located in front of the Arts Building of Dhaka University. It was built by the freedom fighter sculptor Syed Abdullah Khalid. The sculpture shows the participation of people from different sections of the society including the students in the liberation war of Bangladesh. The sculpture was started in 1973. Aparajeyo Bangla was inaugurated on 16 December 1979 on Victory Day.

A sculpture by Shoparjito Shadhinota sculptor Shamim Shikder, located at TSC Road, Dhaka University. The whole body of this sculpture has a fragmentary depiction of the atrocities committed by the Pakistani invaders in 1971. The main sculpture is placed on the square altar. Above left are freedom fighter farmers and right two brave freedom fighters with weapons. In the middle, male and female warriors with weapons are blowing the Victory Nishan. But the Bengalis who gave their blood to hoist the flag, suffered torture, and are depicted around the altar with their fragments. On the left side of the sculpture altar, there is a brutal face of torture on the students. The sculpture was completed on March 25, 1988.

The Raju Memorial Sculpture is dedicated to the memory of Dhaka University student Moin Hossain Raju, who was killed by Bangladesh Students' Union activists while protesting against campus violence.

It is located in the TSC (Teacher Student Council) Circle of Dhaka University, Bangladesh.It was built by Shyamal Chowdhury.
shadhinota Sangram Sculpture is the largest sculpture in Bangladesh built to capture the history of the glorious struggle of the Bengali nation. Shamim Shikder built this sculpture. The sculpture of Bangladesh's history is located on the road island adjacent to Salimullah Hall, Jagannath Hall and Buet in Dhaka University Fuller Road. Freedom Struggle Sculpture is Bengali. Built to capture the history of the nation's glorious struggle.

This sculpture starts from the great language movement, the independence movement of 66, the mass uprising of 69, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's call for freedom struggle on March 7, 71, Kalratri on March 25, the declaration of independence by Bangabandhu on March 26, final victory on December 16. caught The entire sculpture is made with the faces of 18 martyrs who were killed in each movement. In this sculpture, our red and green flag, the symbol of freedom gained at the cost of millions of lives, has been highlighted.

The main sculpture is surrounded by the freedom struggle of hundreds of poets, writers, academics, social reformers, revolutionaries, politicians, and scientists, and a total of 116 sculptures. Some of these sculptures are single, some are connected. All these are created by Shamim Sikder. Some of the sculptures are presented in a wonderful pose. All the sculptures are white in colour. All these sculptures carry out the identity of Bangladesh.
