INTRODUCTION

Good morning, my fellow steemian and blogger. I hope you guys are doing great. It is a thing of joy to share my ideas and knowledge on discrimination, discrimination is something we experience in our basic life why growing. The urge is to fight against discrimination or been discriminated.

Have you ever been discriminated against? Or saw someone being discriminated against?

Yes, back in secondary school, I was discriminated against; not only was I discriminated against, they made me a big fool and laughter.

During my SS2,, I went for a debating competition and was able to challenge my co-debators. Though I was representing my school, they said the sum of N50k will be given to the winners of the debating competition.

I won and was given my own envelope with the N50K. I was happy and went back to where my school is sitting.

When I got there, my school principal asked me to give him the envelope to hold for me before it gets lost, saying that once we get to the school compound, he will give back the envelope. I respected him and gave him the envelope.

Shock to me, when he gave me the envelope, the money wasn't complete; the money inside the envelope remains only N5k, which means N45k is missing.

I went and complained to him about the money; he told me he took the 45k for school management. I tried to explain to him that the money was given to me.

He gave me the beating of my life and sent me away from his office. And he told me that if anybody hears about it, he will flog me again. I cried and went back to my class. Some of my class pity for me while some mock me for that because they warned me not to go .

I never forget this day, since then I refused going to a competition to represent my school.

  • Apart from being discriminated, some cultures are very discriminative, especially in the women's aspect. In some cultures, women are not allowed to work because the elders don't want their women to be as great as them.

In some people's cultures, women are not allowed to dress the way they like when going out. They only stay inside, give birth, and cook for the family.

What will be your steps to prevent discrimination?

  • To avoid or prevent discrimination, I will always strive to use language that is respectful to people; not because I am in power, I will talk down on other people or make them feel less.
  • To prevent discrimination, I will learn to value other people's ideas.
  • I will also learn to put myself in other people's shoes and understand their struggles and emotions, not misunderstanding others.

Discrimination hurts; let's struggle to create a community where everyone feels valued and respected.

People for people. Explain the statement.

In my own understanding, people for people is human caring, supporting, and advocating for other humans. People working towards the well-being of others.
It also emphasises the importance of human connection and support, suggesting that people should help and care for one another. It also encourages us to cultivate a sense of responsibility towards one another, understand other people's perspectives, and create supportive environments for one another.

Give some advice to the discriminators

To discriminators, firstly I will like to say that "what comes around, goes around." . If you are a fan of discrimination, you will surely face discrimination in your life.

Learn to treat others with kindness and respect; everyone on earth deserves respect and dignity.

Discriminators should please learn to examine the actions and attitudes towards people.
