Welcome to the RED ZONE [Poem]

We are all living in fear
Believing this to be the apocalypse
Pubs are closed, can get no good beer
Can't go buy drugs, can't have good trips.

They are killing the economy
But I guess it has to be done,
Now you'll have more time for Philosophy
You'll have more time to raise your son.

It's almost like being on house arrest
But I didn't commit any crime,
And even if that's something I detest
I gotta stay home for some time.

But, It's not just me, It's all of us
And many will still try to leave,
Without thinking, they'll get on a bus
Infecting other countries and being so naive.

All of Italy is a red zone
You can't imagine how it feels,
Not getting out, being alone
Not earning money, but still paying bills.

We have to do it for the others
In order to avoid transmission,
We have to do it for our mothers
For the elder ones with a medical condition.

Three days ago all Italy was declared Red Zone. People are invited to stay inside their houses and to get out only if they really need to. You are still allowed to go to work if you have with you a piece of paper in which you declare where you are going and why, but most businesses closed and very few are working.
I'm now at home, and most probably will have to stay at home for the next 3 weeks.
I have no coronavirus, or at least I have no symptoms and I don't know yet.

I'm not an expert in poetry, I'm only experimenting and I have to admit that I like it.
Here is a list of my most recent poems.
