Hello everyone. Hope you are all doing well.
Bathing is a daily activity that we all do atleast twice a day to keep our bodies clean as well as maintain a good body oder.
I'm a Ugandan and we have several bathing cultures. One of them is ancient though it is still used because of the very many uses it has. It's called "kyogero" bath.

It looks like vegetables🤣 but this is a combination of about ten local herbs which include olweza, kayayana among others. Traditionally, these herbs are collected by grandmothers, It is a bath for new born babies from the age of 0 to 3 months. It is believed that these herbs bring good luck to the baby☺️, give a smooth skin and as well stop diseases if drunk. When using this mixture, that baby is compressed😅using the leaves of the herbs to give them a better shape of the body. In this whole process, soap is not used.

Furthermore, in most villages in my country young children have a tendency of bathing in groups especially in the evening as well as during the rainny season. This is usually done when the young ones have their clothes on🙈. This is for security purposes since both gender bathe together. In the villages they use bathing materials like small jerricans and cups. This is because of the scarcity of water, equipment being too expensive to afford and the need to utilize the few available resources adequately.

Lastly is the modern way which has been adopted by very many people today because of the dynamic environment. This is the use of showers, shower gels among others. Though in my country most people don't use soft sponges for bathing. Rather they use hard ones gotten from a plant which are cream in color. These are used because people believe that the erase dirt completely ☺️. They also use a hard stone for scrubbing legs which is dark brown in color which serves the same purpose as the modern leg scrubber.
