In the dark waters of Paraguay - Stefan Barszczewski

"In the dark waters of Paraguay" is actually the only book made of numerous reportages from Stefan Barszczewski's journeys. Originally published in Lviv in 1931 in the series "Around the Earth", the book is a record of a trip to Paraguay - neither then nor now very popular among Poles or, let's be honest, tourists in general. The author described in detail its inhabitants, including Guaranis and European settlers, the system of government, customs, and nature. He also took a few photos that almost a hundred years ago was not as easy as now, especially on travel.

Thanks to the combination of the author's literary and travel skills, the book is written vividly and invites the readers to consume page after page. Great position worth recommendation. The book is thin and reading it won't take you too much time, but I guarantee you that you will learn new things from it and it will leave you with some inspiring thoughts.

The book in Polish is available online on a CC-BY license, so you can read it here - it's totally for free and 100% legal. Unfortunately, although I know that his books were translated into English and Spanish, I couldn't find the CC version online.
