Eid is the biggest festival of Muslims. It's a day of family, fun, excitement, and adventure. All this doubles up when we dress up with new clothes and shoes. Not only that but other accessories, from shoes to bags, toys to kitchen utensils; Eid shopping covers everything.
My Eid shopping starts with buying something for my son. He means the world to me, so buying his clothes, shoes, and toys is my priority. Then comes shopping for my family and in-law's family. The last thing is, buying something for me.
- Clothes I bought for myself and the cost.
I usually wear Salwer and Kamiz so I bought 2 sets of Salwar suits for this Eid. One is casual and one is party wear. I bought both of them online to avoid going to the crowded Eid market.
They didn't cost me much, I paid only $20 for the party wear and $12 for the casual one.
I bought a pair of shoes as well and some small things like hair bands and pins, etc.
- Shopping for my family.
As I have mentioned earlier, shopping for my son comes first. We bought a few clothes for him. There are t-shirts, shirts, pants, shoes, sandals, and most importantly toys.
The budget for his shopping was around 10K taka. We don't have to pay the whole amount as he gets money as a gift from our family members. We spend only 1-2K from our wallet.
We have been shopping for him for months. Some of his outfit was bought from when the sale was going on. Later, we bought some more from other shops as well.
He is been asking for a Lego set for a very long time, and finally for this Eid; we managed to buy him one. It costs us $17. And the shoes were $20. He is the champ for this Eid!
My husband also did his shopping. Usually, he pays for everything and I buy him something as a gift as well. We send money to our relatives as a gift before Eid so they can buy according to their choices.
Eid means sharing and spreading love.
- Who's outfit stands out?
No question but my son's outfit is the best. We tried to buy everything from the brand shop and his shirts are so cute.
He is 8 now, and fortunately, we got to buy some nice clothes for him. It's a pleasure as a parent to buy the best we can for our child. That made our Eid perfect.
There are still a few shopping left, like grocery shopping and wet market shopping. Hopefully, in a few days, we will finish up and prepare for the Eid.
Eid is not about showing off and how much we can buy. There's no competition. But it's a festival to do the best for us, share with others, spread happiness, and build a better connection with God.
I wish, this be the best Eid for every one of us.
