Hello friends of Newcomers' Community! I wish they were doing very well.
Below I present my publication of the 3rd achievement, related to Plagiarism.
What is Plagiarism?
Plagiarism is the representation of another author's language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions as one's own original work. In educational contexts, there are differing definitions of plagiarism depending on the institution. source
This means that plagiarism is committed when a person passes off as his authorship, some writing, photograph, drawing, among other material, which belongs to a third party. Just by partially copying it, paraphrasing it or not granting the author's credits, the crime of plagiarism is being committed.
How to avoid committing plagiarism?
Always present the source of the information from which you were guided to elaborate your content. It can be a website, magazine, newspaper, social network, among others.
As it could be seen, when defining the plagiarism I made a textual quote, using quotation marks, and presenting the link of the source of information. This is an example of a type of quote that you could apply to your content.
Learn to analyze a text from a third party, to leave aside the typical paraphrasing. You must have merit for your content! And always give the source of information.
Avoid "self-plagiarism", which is nothing more than taking information from us and re-presenting it "as new".
Remember that the original content and that consists of its corresponding sources of information consulted, will always have more value.
I'll show you how we quote someone else's word or photo.
Example:
India, officially the Republic of India, is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by area, the second-most populous country, and the most populous democracy in the world. source
