Dr. Sir Allama Muhammad Iqbal (born 9 November 1877 - died 21 April 1938) was a well-known twentieth-century poet, writer, jurist, politician and one of the most important figures in the Pakistan movement. He used to write poetry in Urdu and Persian and this is the main reason for his fame. The main trend in poetry was towards Sufism and revival of the Islamic Ummah. He also wrote a prose book in English entitled "The Reconstruction of Religions That in Islam". Allama Iqbal is considered a modern day Sufi. [Citation needed] As a politician, his most notable achievement was the formation of the ideology of Pakistan, which he presented in 1930 while presiding over a meeting of the Muslim League in Allahabad. This ideology later became the basis for the establishment of Pakistan. That is why Allama Iqbal is considered the ideological father of Pakistan. Although he did not see the establishment of this new country with his own eyes, he has the status of the national poet of Pakistan.
Iqbal's father, Sheikh Noor Muhammad, was a descendant of the Supro Brahmins of Kashmir. During the reign of Ghazi Aurangzeb Alamgir, one of his ancestors converted to Islam. Iqbal's ancestors migrated from Kashmir to Sialkot in the late eighteenth or early nineteenth century and settled in Mohalla Khetian. In each case, they have seized it, despite obstacles we can scarcely imagine. " He was also one of those gentlemen. The elders left Kashmir and settled in Sialkot. Sheikh Noor Mohammad's father Sheikh Mohammad Rafiq built a house in Mohalla Khatikan. Started a business selling Kashmiri loaves and dhuss. It seems that he and Iqbal's father's younger brother Sheikh Ghulam Muhammad were born and raised here. Later Sahaj Ram Supro Bazaar came up in Choudhigran which is now called Iqbal Bazaar. He took a small house and lived in it and stayed there till his death. After the death of Iqbal's grandfather Sahaj Ram Sapro, Sheikh Noor Mohammad bought a two-storey house and two shops adjoining it.
