Assalamualaikum everyone
Good morning steemians.
I'm implicitly excited to write my milestone 2 once I've completed milestone 1 and it's been verified. It is very important to complete this achievement task to know how secure this social media platform is. This achievement 2 assignment is about basic security in Steem. In my writing, I will define security and explain basic security in Steem. I will also explain the five permission keys we have in steemit and important questions to ask. I'll start by defining the term security.
Security
Security, as we all know, is the act of protecting someone's property, documents, and more from unauthorized access. Security is the act of using measures to protect and encrypt one's important documents against unauthorized access. It is also a condition of not being physically threatened by anyone.
Basic Security on Steem
Security on Steem is basically security measures that prevent unauthorized users from seeing certain functions on one's account. Protect your user account and limit unnecessary access to your account and wallet. Basically, there are five permission keys in steemit which are used for this encryption. These keys include; Master Key, Post Lock, Active Lock, Owner Key, and Note Lock.
The first and most important is the master key.
Have you are all retrieved your keys on steemit?
Yes, as suggested when registering with Steemit, I have saved all my draft passwords in my Gmail account and in my Google account. USB laptop and Google Drive..
Do you know there's function and restriction of each key's......
I have read the instructions and used it in various capacities. Yes, I know how each button works.
Posting key
Active key
Mamo key
Owner key
Master key
The functions are as follows
Posting Key
Posting key is an important key that every user uses to log into their steemit account. This is a special key that is used to perform functions such as posting, commenting, and voting.
Memo Key
A memo key is a key that is used to encode and decode messages sent to users. Note lock is used to prevent information leakage.
Active key
The active key is the key used to log into our Steem wallet, power up our Steem and also to transfer tokens to other uses. Active keys are always required to complete transactions such as transferring steem to other users and powering on.
Owner Key
The owner key is a special key that is used to reset all other keys on the steemit platform. But the owner key cannot reset the primary key.
Master key
The master password can be used to control other keys, i.e., if someone has access to your master password, it means that they already have access to everything associated with your account, including all the tokens contained in it. That's why it always takes too long for third parties to have trouble accessing them.
Do you know how to plan to keep your master password?
As an online safety precaution, I keep all my keys, including my master password, in cloud and offline backup files in my Google account.
Do you know how to transfer your steem token other Steemit user account?
Do you know how to power up your steem in your account..?
Yes I know how to fully power up my steem you cen see Step by By step.. found below...
