Content Etiquette

In Steemit I got to learn about originality in content, which is beauty in creativity. One way to present original content is to avoid plagiarism and today I will talk about plagiarism.

WHAT IS PLAGIARISM?

Plagiarism means copying words, posts, images, etc. from others without obtaining it properly.
As a Computer Science student, I like to see plagiarism as piracy in my terms, as it relates to unauthorized access or giving content creators proper credit.
As copying and pasting has become a normal thing in our society today, it is important to note that it can be a serious crime as it can be labeled as plagiarism because it involves using other people's work, research or studies without giving them adequate credit.

KINDS/TYPES OF PLAGIARISM

SELF PLAGIARISM

This type of plagiarism occurs when you copy your own work.
writing whether consciously or not. Many people may think that self-plagiarism is not toxic because you are not copying someone only yourself, but that it is very dangerous like everyone else. This is also called automatic plagiarism.

COMPLETE PLAGIARISM

This type of plagiarism occurs when you try to submit someone else's work entirely and present it as your own without them contributing to any issues with the work. For example, when a writer copies the work of another author just to make money without knowing that the information he is trying to provide is meaningless because he has already fed society with the usual information that exists which is unethical.

ACCIDENTAL PLAGIARISM

In this case, an author copies someone else's work without knowing that they have done so. Also, whether it happened by mistake or not, please remember that plagiarism has occurred and it will be considered if you are found guilty.

PARAPHRASING PLAGIARISM

Paraphrasing means reconstructing the text or speech in your words without changing the meaning.
In this type of plagiarism, the copied work is not left behind with new ideas but slight changes will be made. It seems to be a common type of plagiarism used in all sections of society.

SOURCE BASED PLAGIARISM

Source simply means where you get something from or how you can get something. In other words, this type of plagiarism occurs when an author has two sources of ideas or facts but leaves only one reference to use.

DIRECT PLAGIARISM

This type of plagiarism occurs when a researcher steals the work of several authors literally, i.e. verbatim, and claims it as his own. Also known as copy-paste plagiarism.

HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM IN STEEMIT

First of all, Steemit is a platform that allows you to share your ideas globally and be rewarded for your participation in cryptocurrency.

outlines includes

Avoid copying and pasting someone's direct quote into your own work.

Not carefully and correctly citing the sources used to form an article. Text citations and reference sections should be considered at the end of your article.

Often times, you use quotation marks ("") to indicate where a particular word or sentence comes from and is not yours.

In general, it is very important that you use your own ideas.

SUMMARY

Plagiarism should be avoided in the country in general because it is very toxic, especially for those who are in the education sector if they want to become future leaders.

Please, we should try to follow the guidelines listed above if we use the loan idea so as not to be penalized.

Remember that it is very easy and not difficult to do.

Citation Method

The rose is considered the most beautiful flower in the world, which is why it’s called the “queen of the garden.” It’s one of the most popular flowers worldwide, and it comes in different sizes and colors.source
