The instructions provided by @cryptokannon concerning steem keys has given me knowledge about all the keys, so with that knowledge I make my achievement 2 post which concerns security on steemit.

I first and foremost secured my keys pursuant to the creation of my account with the help provided by @venon from whom I got to know about steemit.

Four different generated keys are tied to any steemit account and they function in different areas.

Let’s discuss them starting with:

The Active Key

The Active Key has access to token related transactions, like transferring and exchanging tokens.
Actions done in the wallet are certified with the Active Key. Exposing your Active Key can cause loss of your tokens. So keeping your Active Key safe means keeping your tokens safe.

Active Key permissions:

The Active key is used to;

• Transfer tokens

• Power STEEM up or down

• SBD conversion

• Vote for witnesses

• Place an order on an exchange

• Certain profile changes

• Publish a Witness price feed

• Create a new user

POSTING KEY

The Posting Key is only applicable to social network actions such as posting, commenting on posts and voting.
It therefore has limited permissions and can’t be used for token related actions.

Posting Key permissions

• Publish a post or comment
• Edit a post or comment
• Upvote or downvote
• Resteem content
• Follow people
• Mute accounts

Owner Key:

The Owner Key is the master of all keys, because it has the power to change all other keys, it can be used to recover your account and that makes it the most important key which should be securely saved offline.
I have securely saved an offline version of my Owner Key including all other steemit keys nonetheless.

Owner Key permissions

• Reset Owner, Active, and Posting keys
• Recover your account
• Decline voting rights

Memo Key

The Memo Key does little work, it is only used in encrypting and decrypting private messages sent through the blockchain.

Memo Key permissions

• Send an encrypted message
• View an encrypted message

Transferring tokens

Every token in your wallet has a little arrow 🔽 beside them

Screenshot_20210704-231925.png

tapping on any displays a drop-down menu, to transfer SBD (steem dollars) tap the little arrow 🔽 then tap transfer and fill in the recipient’s name.

You’ll need to verify the transaction with your active, owner or master key.

How to power up

In your wallet, tap the little arrow 🔽 beside your steem token to bring out a drop-down menu, tap power up and specify amount.

Again your active, owner or master password is also needed to authenticate the transaction.

Finale

Do not in any way reveal any of your keys even if you have drawn over them electronically!
Login into any section concerning your account with the right key.
Make sure to save an offline copy of your keys and keep it safe.
