Achievement 5 Task 1 by @bambamaru2020 : Review Steemworld.org

Nope - I am sorry my friend, but that is all I am willing to do. You don't pay me and I have no Idea what for I should follow your advice. To expect Achievements to fulfill in a supposedly decentralised environment is already pretty questionable. Now it smells badly fishy to me. Who are you after all? We never talked before. I have been chatting with @cryptokannon and apologized to the creator @steemchiller because there are tons of professional reviews out there but I'm simply not up and not capable to spend more time to do better to make you happy. I'm not from this field and as mentioned you are not going to pay me. Why should I even think about doing more for you? Don't forget that your tiny community will remain extremely small if you require every participant to be a crypto nerd. You are actually telling me to become one to participate - at least you are telling me what I have to write when I should explain from my understanding... weird isn't it?

I'm a sailor and I was willing to share my blog on this network for a little bit. I will not dance to your crypto rules or bend myself further than necessary. I don't even need to post here if the opinions of a single individual like you matter. Who are you to tell me that? I still struggle with those Witnesses and their powers because it doesn't feel right in times of decentralization. Therefore you did not even read the content of my post at all. It says quite clearly that this review is not representative. Makes it weird why you still comment all that crab then as a GREETER. Where did you get that label from? I'd like to talk to your Captain or Supervisor because what I understood of this project is not what you are representing and I'm seriously questioning your status.

You'll not get a community together if you play the guru and lecture new members. Oh and of course there will be no Achievement 5.2 Dude... what for? Write me a review about the North Atlantic Labrador current and we can talk!

Hey Captain Andy @bambamaru2020 let chill out a bit shall we 😄 your review about the steemworld the most widely used tool in the steem community is good enough given that you're a newcomer and also actually quite entertaining for me.
I believe in time you will get to master it like most of us here who are not that much into the nitty-gritty of the tool like some of our crypto geek in here.
@sapwood is one of our crypto geeks and also just added to the team quite recently.
I think I need to brief my team member more about how we should review and correct our newcomers without making it too difficult or a turn off for them to continue finishing this program.
We are actually still quite new on running this project specifically catering to the newcomers.
We were a very small team in the beginning, and just recently added some new team members into the team.
I have changed the mentoring structure to different mentors/curators that will be reviewing and mentoring the newcomers for each specific task.
For example, for this Achievement 5 to 6 @sapwood and 2 more others will be guiding the newcomer through these achievements. We are still experimenting with this method to see if it's effective or not.

As for your question regarding the power of witnesses, you will get to know their roles once you are in the Achievement 6 task. They're not that powerful as you thought, they have the power because they been elected by the community through votes, and as steem blockchain was built based on delegated proof of stake, which mean the weight of the vote from the community member is depending on how much steem power they hold, the more steem power the community member has, the more weight/influence this member have on giving these witnesses a power as guardian of the steem blockchain.

I hope you will continue on to the next achievement task for additional knowledge and be well equipped on sailing the steem blockchain ocean. Keep on sailing with us in the steem blockchain ocean Captain! See you around 😊

No, everything is fine. I am aware that a structure should be brought into the project and you are doing it very well. Considering that only a tiny part of the mainstream bloggers knows what a blockchain is all about, the number of those with deeper knowledge might not really be enough for a mass adaptation. If steemit is supposed to be more of an elite playground for crypto geeks, where you have to go back to school to achieve any kind of ranking to participate, then I'm not surprised that the diversity here doesn't really work out yet. There are so many nice people here and I am really thankful for your support, but I am a sailor and only blog about such matters - I will stick to my skills. These Achievement postings are not for me if there is a serious demand that everyone should post the same thing about a topic that is rather boring and dry reading. Humor is obviously unnecessary and as my next Achievement Reviews would rather degenerate into more satire because of my lack of knowledge, I don't wanna offend people who take it all serious. I am sure that in time I will understand everything that is really important to me as a blogger here in this ecosystem.

Thank you for your feedback on the project regarding this, when I started this project, I wanted to make it fun and enjoyable to the newcomers as to not want them to feel overwhelmed and feeling in the dark about how steem ecosystem works.
This I very well understand and been through as a newcomer myself, that time no one to guide me and no such thing like the community for newcomers and other support for newcomers to get on their feet on steemit, I took about a week to research everything myself and months later to finally figuring out everything.
I wish there's this place/program for newcomers back then so my learning progress could be faster and less overwhelmed by the many things to learn and I don't know what is the basic and important things/tools to know as a newcomer.
We don't force people to enroll in this program and certainly not want them to feel turn off or feel its too hard for them to finish too.
One of our goal is to produce a well equipped and quality Pro Newcomer out of this program.
That being said, if I'm to sail on the ocean just like how you doing now, I'm willing and humbling myself to enroll in any school you have for a new sailor wannabe so I can learn all the skills and tools I need to better sailing the sea.
I appreciate your feedback regarding the way we conducting the program and we will improve ourselves along the way to serve the newcomers community better.

I wish more creative and more people with a great sense of humor coming into steemit as this is what social platform is all about, a place where everyone having fun socializing and not just all dry and boring serious content, but I hope there will be a balance of this too, as too much of either side won't be good too for a long run sustainable ecosystem.

Well, since you are our special and quite unique newcomer on steemit, I will personally be mentoring you and your crew along the way of this program. Have fun Captain, don't lose that great sense of humor, keep them coming 😃 STEEM On!!

@Cryptokannon I really appreciate your commitment and understand the idea behind it. Thank you very much for the time you spent to keep me and other Newcomers engaged. Your comparison with sails makes sense to me too. But let's take a closer look at this example. You're right if you want to learn everything about sailing ships and how they work before you actually go to the sea. But now you have to differentiate and consider what role you play on this ship. Are you the captain in charge, a sailor or just a guest on board for a crossing. Even though you are all on the same boat, the requirements for each of them are very different. For the guest it does not matter what a mizzen is or what it is used for, even if it is an indispensable part of the journey. He doesn't need to know how the boat works like the deckhands although he uses it. It would probably take days for the guest to write a review of each sail and its special features. But he will still get from A to B no matter how much of the process he understood.

I think I already have a decent basic understanding of blockchain, social media and web-based applications. I could even fall back on some small Java-Script and HTML skills from my early days in the late 90s for the Markdown thing. Still, it took me more than a full day for this review post. I don't think anybody who knows less about it would want to spend that much time. I have read a couple of other reviews and found that even those I found very good are criticized by moderators and require more work from the newbie. That's not much fun, sort of embarrassing and quite counterproductive. With each review, it becomes more and more confusing and hard to find a reliable source that is properly geared to the understanding level of a newcomer. It remains a grey sea of half-truths.

If an incentive is supposed to entice, then I guess it is too well hidden. I only participated for fun and to be part of it. I don't know if I will profit from it in the end or what I will get out of it as a user. No idea what those labels are meant for. It was certainly fun so far, but the requirements in Achievement 5 are in my opinion too much to ask for and above all not sufficiently clearly defined for someone new to the subject.

In the introduction, you wrote -

"...then create a blog post about it in your own understanding." Achievement 5

If the requirement is to describe something from your own understanding, it is not okay to want to correct it. This is a personal opinion that is very important even if it does not necessarily have to be correct. The requirement is not - describe the tools correctly as it is and get the necessary understanding. This is what some moderators are asking quite clearly.

You are asking for 3 posts on each task. With this 4 tasks that makes 12 posts. I lost it after half of the first post on the first task. So there is not much fun left to do all the work.

Apart from that it is not very effective too. Maybe it would be better, for example, to ask a set of questions about each tool which the respondent can answer with the help of the respective pages. However, it is important to make sure that the required knowledge is actually relevant for the newcomer and is needed on his further way in this ecosystem.

Maybe there is a collection of tutorials somewhere, which explains step by step exactly what the tools are all about. However, this is not easy to find. Even something like that would still be a lot to learn and a lot of time to spend for a bricklayer or gardener who only sits at the PC occasionally. The possibilities on Steem are so manifold that not everything is equally important for everyone. Maybe your team could write a kind of quick installation guide like the one that comes with new electrical appliances. Such an overview or something like that could be very helpful. For someone who has never dealt with codes and crypto before, editing an article is a very complicated and time-consuming task. If motivated Steemian have built these 4 tool web pages around steem already, why not integrate a simple editor somewhere that does most of the editing code work automatically?

I have learned something about Proof of Brian, I got it what I need all the keys for and learned how to write a nice post, but I don't even know if or how to communicate with other members outside of comments. I still don't know how to embed my Steemit Blog as RSS Feed on my website. Such things are much more important for me personally to stay engaged. I am very happy that you are giving me these insights and respect your good work. I would like to help you, but I really can't write reviews on topics I don't understand enough about.

I like the passion in the community

Hi @bambamaru2020 I appreciate these valuable suggestions and feedback from your end. We will look into it and see if we need to do some changes to the programs' curriculum.
I think you are just interested in becoming a guest on our steemit ship, and we have prepared a program for our guests too to help them build their steem power at the beginning of their journey on steemit. Please see this program https://steemit.com/hive-172186/@cryptokannon/500sp-minnow-support-program-for-newcomers

I hope you will be joining this program. See you around captain! 😊

sorry if I ran into the wrong pub and raised false hopes and I really apologize. I don't know what else is on the blockchain besides guests, but I am effectively just a user. A sailor looking for a platform for his tales and someone who is basically interested in the topic. But I'm rather unfit to moderate, build or develop anything on this platform. I can help to build the network by using it and by making my existing followers on other social medias aware of our new blog here with you. But at the end of the day I will remain just a guest and I will gladly register for this offered program. Achievement 6 I will probably still hand in at some point. At least I have understood that but the remaining tasks from 5 I have to skip. But I don't need a label or status in return either. Many thanks again for your help and great support.
