I greet you all steemians😁😁, I just completed my achievement two and this is my achievement three which is based on content etiquette.

Meaning of plagiarism
For me, plagiarism means stealing someone's work or project for personal benefits.
According to the university of Oxford, source

Plagiarism is presenting someone else’s work or ideas as your own, with or without their consent, by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement. All published and unpublished material, whether in manuscript, printed or electronic form, is covered under this definition. Plagiarism may be intentional or reckless, or unintentional. Under the regulations for examinations, intentional or reckless plagiarism is a disciplinary offence.

Forms of plagiarism
1) Verbatim (word for word) : This involves using or copying the exact work of the original author without acknowledgement.
2)Cutting and pasting from the Internet without acknowledgement
Information derived from the Internet must be adequately referenced and included in the bibliography.
3) Paraphrasing other people's work by changing a few words.
4) Wrong citation:It is necessary to cite ones work correctly.
5) Failure to acknowledge assistance

How to avoid plagiarism

  1. Don't just copy everything, describe other people's ideas or results (using references) rather than simply copying what you've read.
  2. Avoid using cut and paste options in electronic material e.g computer and phone as this encourages you to copy verbatim.
  3. Explore a wide range of sources
Don't just limit yourself to using one source when researching, doing projects or your work etc.
  4. Be unique/ develop your own style of doing things either in writing, research or projects etc.
  5. Always remember to use quotation marks whenever you want to copy someone work word for word. This will help to ensure that you do not accidentally plagiarise.

Remark
I have read and understood the Steemit Etiquette on Steemit Community and will do my best to embrace them.
