Achievement 2 by @birock Task : Basic Security on Steem

Hello steemians, sure we are all doing fine, so proud of this platform. I'm happy to present you my achievements 2 post. Talking about security, what is the meaning? I choose to say that Security is to be safeguarded from threat, danger, virus and so on. To be guarded from danger is security. Security is very important in our day to day activities. As touching basic security on steemit, it is to me about all keys that serve as a safeguard to our steemit accounts as well keys we use in operating our account. Securing these keys is very important because these keys secure our steemit accounts. It is something one need to be careful about.

Question 1: Have you retrieve all your keys on steemit?

I have retrieved my keys on steemit. I downloaded it the day i registered.
I was given all the keys that is the master password and other keys which are; posting key, active key, memo key and owner key. Immediately i retrieved it, i kept it in a safe place because i understand the importance of such a key based on what the person who introduced me to the platform told me.

Question 2: Do you know each of these key functions and restrictions?

Yes I know the functions and restrictions of these keys based on the information from the person who introduced me to this platform plus some study i did on this platform. Here is a brief explanation of the functions and restrictions of each keys.

POSTING KEYS:

ThIA key enables you to login, post, edit, make comment on other users account, resteem, follow or mute other users. A limited posting key was created in order to limit or prevent the damage a compromised account key will cause to my account.

ACTIVE KEY:

Active key is used to perform sensitive transaction or task such as transfering of fund (Steem or SBD) to other users, to power up or power down transactions, conversion of Steem Dollars, voting for witnesses, updating profile details and placing a market order.

OWNERS KEY:

This key is used when necessary. It is a very and most powerful key because it is capable of changing any key of an account together with the owner's key. it is ideally meant to be stored offline, and only used to recover a gift compromised account.

MEMO KEY:

We use memo key for encrypting and decrypting memos during transferring funds. And for us to encrypt a memo, we use the pound/# before it.

MASTER KEY

The master key is used to derive all keys for our account, including the owner key. It is a key that must be carefully kept as account and all the tokens can be stolen if someone has access to your it.

Question 3: How do you plan to keep your master password?

I plan to keep my master password in a secured and safe place . I already saved my master password on my flash drive and also saved it in my hard copy diary so as to have a backup which is also hidden in a safe place. Inorder to safeguard my master password safe, i avoid staying m any link that is not a real steemit link officially.

Question 4: Do you know how to transfer your steem token to another steem user account?

Yes I know how to transfer my steem token to another steem user account.
First I go to my steem profile then click on wallet.

Then to sign in

Then sign in with my active key

After signing in with my Active key, go to steem, then click on the drop down of steem and click transfer

Enter the user account name (mightyt) I'm transfering to, then enter the amount of steem (0.001) I want to transfer, the memo box can be left empty and then I click on next.

Then click on ok to confirm the transaction.

The transaction becomes successful as soon as I click on okay.

Question 5: Do you know how to power up your STEEM?

Yes I know how to power up my STEEM .
First I go to my wallet, follow the same procedure as when I want to transfer steem to another user, click on drop down of steem

Then click on power up where i get this👇

I then enter the amount of steem I want to power up and click power up.

Then I click on OK and it becomes successful instantly
