HOW VOTING AND CURATION WORK IN STEEMIT

Here, in this platform we have votes that is required to be done: the up vote and the down vote

The green arrow stands for the upvote and means good while the red arrow stand for the downvote and means bad

UP VOTE

Giving a user an upvote indicates that you agree with or enjoy what he or she has written. More of a motivator. An upvote can pay off depending on the user's voting strength.

DOWN VOTE

The downvote is the polar opposite of the upvote. When a user gives you a down-vote, it signifies they don't like your work and you won't get anything in return.

The more people vote, the worse your voting style becomes. It is also increasing by 20% per day.

CURATION

When you get an upvote, you get a prize called curation. Upvoting a user earns a curator a percentage of the reward, which is known as curation reward. However, there is no compensation for downvoting a user.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU VOTE A POST BEFORE 5 MINUTES MARKS AFTER VOTING

When a curator upvotes a post, the reward earned from that post is usually split 50/50 between the curator and the author.
When a curator upvotes a post before the 5 minute mark, however, the curator's payout is reduced.
