Calvary Greetings beautiful steemians. Hope you all are doing great and well. Got my achievements 1 and 2 verified, so I will like to present to you my achievement 3 task.

Now let's check on life's daily doings.. Someone gives you a gift to give to a friend as per a birthday gift, upon reaching there, you tell the celebrate that you are the one offering the gift thereby making you to take all the credits instead of the person who sent you. Is that not plagiarism?

In another scenario, your parent sends you and your siblings to go do a job and after the job is finished and well done, you come back alone telling you parent that you are the one who did all the work and not even mentioning your sibling. Plagiarism right?.

Nevertheless, whether you take a person's work, idea or text partially or completely without making mention of the owner or directing it to the source inorder for you to take all the credits to yourself while presenting it as your own, is called PLAGIARISM.

WHAT IS PLAGIARISM??

"
As Wikipedia defines it..Plagiarism is the representation of another author's language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions as one's own original work.[1][2] In educational contexts, there are differing definitions of plagiarism depending on the institution."Source

University of Oxford as defines it as this..Plagiarism is presenting someone else’s work or ideas as your own, with or without their consent, by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement. All published and unpublished material, whether in manuscript, printed or electronic form, is covered under this definition. Plagiarism may be intentional or reckless, or unintentional. Under the regulations for examinations, intentional or reckless plagiarism is a disciplinary offence."Source

On steemit, users are encouraged to always be creative,free to write post, poems, texts and scripts in which ever way they want BUT if Incase you happen to take someone's post or texts or even pictures, you ought to endeavor at all cost to direct it to the source or a citation.

Taking someone's post or texts or picture might not be illegal,BUT here on STEEMIT, it is NOT appropriate and is disallowed because STEEMIT encourages originality and creativity from all it's users.

TYPES OF PLAGIARISM

Plagiarism can be divided into various types;

  • Using part of someone's work, be it quotes, text or picture.
  • Blending a person's work into yours, so that it's hard to discover and no reference is allocated.
  • Completely copying another person's work, word for word and phrase for phrase without any little reference.
  • Applying someone's work or idea and allocating no credit to them due to ignorance.
  • Doing mirror changes to another person's work to make it come out as yours.

HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM.

We can always avoid plagiarism by stated and allocating the source of any text, quote, idea, work or picture we use that is not ours inorder for one to locate the original post. By the means of using citation, that is "" or > like for example

A "citation" is a formal reference to a published or unpublished source that you consulted and obtained information from while writing your research paper."Source

For photos and pictures, you always use copyright free pictures from website like;
https://shutterstock.com
https://pexels.com and
https://unsplash.com then endeavor to allocate it's source by doing this; [Source](link of the picture from the website).
For instance;

Let's always try and endeavor to be creative in creating our own posts. Many people at times get themselves involved in plagiarism due to lack of confidence and most of it all laziness.
Please let's not fall for it and be creative.

Thank you all for reading, for I have come to the end of my achievement 3 post. God bless you all.

Remarks;
I have read and understood the Steemit Etiquette on steemit community and I will do my best to embrace them.
