DIFFINITION OF NUTURAL RESOURCES

Natural resources are resources that exist without any actions of humankind. This includes the sources of valued characteristics such as commercial and industrial use, aesthetic value, scientific interest and cultural value. On Earth, it includes sunlight, atmosphere, water, land, all minerals along with all vegetation, and animal life.

TYPES OF NATURAL RESOURCES

There are two types of natural resources.
Renewable natural resources
Non-renewable natural resources

RENEWABLE NATURAL RESOURCES

Renewable natural resources which can be renewed are known as the renewable natural resource. The resources such the sunlight, air, water etc are some of the examples of the renewable natural resources. Renewable resources are those resources which are frequently available without considering of their use. They can be pretty well regained or replaced after their utilization. Animals can also be categorized under the renewable natural resources as they can be nurtured and brought up to reproduce the offspring and to replace the older animals. " Source

NON-RENEWABLE NATURAL RESOURCES

There are four major types of nonrenewable resources: oil, natural gas, coal, and nuclear energy. Oil, natural gas, and coal are collectively called fossil fuels. Fossil fuels were formed within the Earth from dead plants and animals over millions of years—hence the name “fossil” fuels. They are found in underground layers of rock and sediment. Pressure and heat worked together to transform the plant and animal remains into crude oil (also known as petroleum), coal, and natural gas.

The plants and animals that became fossil fuels lived in a time called Carboniferous Period, around 300 to 360 million years ago. The energy in the plant and animal remains originally came from the sun; through the process of photosynthesis, solar energy is stored in plant tissues, which animals then consume, adding the energy to their own bodies. When fossil fuels are burned, this trapped energy is released. " Source

Natural resources are very important to us both renewable and non-renewable. They can be used to produce so many things.

HOW TO TAKE GOOD CARE OF OUR NATURAL RESOURCES

You can reduce, reuse, and recycle! For example, turn off the lights when you are not in a room. This will reduce the use of fossil fuel used to make electricity. Ride your bicycle and walk more, to reduce the amount of gasoline used to transport you. You can reuse things. Things like plastic jugs, jars, paper, and bags can be reused. Each time you reuse something, you conserve the natural resources that would have been used to make new ones.

Finally, you can recycle. Recycle means to reuse a natural resource or product to make something new. It also means to collect and send these things for reuse. Items that can be easily recycled include: glass, some plastics, paper, cardboard, aluminum, and steel. Some plastics and metals are hard to recycle. They are often made from mixtures of materials. Mixtures can be hard to separate. Try to buy and use things that you can recycle. Source

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN RENEWABLE NATURAL RESOURCES AND NON-RENEWABLE

RENEWABLENON-RENEWABLE
Their supplies are not limited.Their supplies are limited.

” Conservation means development as much as it does protection. I recognize the right and duty of this generation to develop and use the natural resources of our land; but I do not recognize the right to waste them, or to rob, by wasteful use, the generations that come after us.
— Theodore Roosevelt
