PROOF OF BRAIN CONCEPT
This implies that newbies should be able to understand the basic knowledge of producing original content free of plagiarism. Steemit blockchain is a platform established to help users write and produce original content from their brain and this enable them to earn a fee-less digital token known as STEEM.
Since users earn by writing nd producing original content, any content that doesn't belong to the author should be properly sourced or cited to avoid such post from been classified as plagiarism.
Some of the contents accepted and welcome on the platform are videos, songs, photos, quotes, knowledgeable articles and many more.
HOW TO CITE A SOURCE
An article that is properly and well cited should have a Link attached to it to enable users know it's origin or where such article was sourced from. In cases where an author's definition is used, a link should be attached immediately after the phrase with the appropriate mark down style. This enables the user to learn more from such article.
Example of citation can be seen below
CONTENT ETIQUETTE
In a layman definition, content etiquette is a set of rules, instructions that guide the conduct of an individual in a professional practice or setting.
PLAGIARISM
In clear terms, plagiarism is the act of copying someone's work, ideas without proper acknowledgement to the author.
Plagiarism is also the representation of another author's language, thought, ideas or expression as one's original work.Source
There are various forms of plagiarism namely;
Mosaic or patchwork plagiarism: This is a type of plagiarism where an author's work is paraphrased without proper citation.
Complete plagiarism:
This type of plagiarism happens when someone tries to copy an author's original work, word for word without giving credit, and the only thing that is changed is the author's name.
Self-plagiarism: This type of plagiarism is also known as auto-plagiarism, this occurs when a writer intentionally copy's his/her own writing instead of writing a new piece from the beginning.
Source-based plagiarism: This kind of plagiarism happens when the writer's Source is fabricated, incorrect or not in existences.
Accidental plagiarism: This happens when a writer omits or incorrectly cites an author thereby giving the researched work a different meaning from the original context
In conclusion, all forms of plagiarism should be avoided as it shows insincerity on the side of the plagiarist.
