The word plagiarism means a whole lot to different people, but when it comes to creating content,it means stealing and passing the ideas or words of someone else as your own or to use the production of someone's brain work as your own instead of creating your own.

Plagiarism is not just the stealing of someone's words but also the stealing of ideas which means that even if you change the sentence ,you need to cite the idea.

TYPES OF PLAGIARISM

There are different forms of plagiarism,it starts from taking a part of someone's idea to taking all the person's idea. In the end,all types of plagiarism boils down to one thing, stealing someone's idea or word as your own.

COPY AND PASTE PLAGIARISM

This is also known as direct plagiarism,it involves using a paragraph from another source without a citation. If it's important for you to use someone's words or ideas in your work, then learn how to quote the source.

MOSAIC PLAGIARISM

It means to copy and paste different pieces of text together to create a kind of Mosaic or patchwork of other researchers ideas. Even though the result will be a completely new piece of work, the words and ideas aren't yours.

SELF PLAGIARISM

When you use parts of your former work without properly citing it,then you are committing what is called self plagiarism. Though it sounds so abstract to penalize you for plagiarising your own work, you should know that it is done because it is totally against the expectations of your readers.

GLOBAL PLAGIARISM

Whenever you use someone's words and ideas, you're committing plagiarism because you're pretending that the words and ideas are yours. Using someone's words includes a friend or relative writing the text for you.

CONSEQUENCES OF PLAGIARISM

Some common consequences of PLAGIARISM includes....
• You can be downvoted
• Copyright infringement
• Blocking of your account
• You will lose your audience.

HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM

In order to avoid plagiarism,kindly follow the following steps;
