Good day great Steemians, super excited to carry out my Achievement 3 exercise on Plagiarism. My previous Achievement exercises was gracefully verified and I'm thankful for that.

Today I'll be writing on Plagiarism and how Steemit take measures to ensure that Plagiarism is extricated from this awesome platform.

WHAT IS PLAGIARISM?

Plagiarism is the art of copying and pasting of other people's writings, works, ideas etc, as though it's yours without giving the source credit for their crafts. Plagiarism is also widely considered as theft of which it's a serious crime that can lead to losing credibility.

Duplicates, Counterfeits, Forgery are few synonyms closely associated with Plagiarism.

HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM

Citation is the key word here.
Sometimes in order to pass your message across with pinpoint accuracy, one has to seek a better way of putting his or her message by using an existing source, expressions or forms that best suits the circumstance while giving full credit to the origin of the material being used.

Almost everyone would love their works to be acknowledged if being given the credit or glory.
Citation is pivotal, for it makes your work credible and reliable.
An a example of Citation below is a Jim Rohn Masterpiece.

"Don't wish it was easier wish you were better. Don't wish for less problems wish for more skills. Don't wish for less challenge wish for more wisdom" Source

With the above citation, one can easily get the source from which I got the quote of Jim Rohn.
This simple act of citation goes a long way as it makes my writings credible while maintaining my good reputation.

Creativity and Citation is the way out to eradicating Plagiarism.
The human brain is the most powerful and complex computer there is, It's like a muscle and the way to exercise it is by thinking, brainstorming, being creative.
The more you engage in it, the better you become.
Plagiarism clogs our brain, depriving it of creativity therefore we should avoid Plagiarism.
By doing this, we open ourselves to a wonderful world of creativity plus you'll get paid off it (Proof of Brain)
