Security is an important aspect of our daily activities in life as on has to take some precautions in all doings.
WHAT IS SECURITY:
Security is a state of being free from threat or danger of any form.
In steemit community, the need for security cannot be overemphasized. Unlike every other website that you have to input your desired password. An interesting and special characteristic about steemit is that it does not give you the chance to pick your desired password as it generates a well designed password containing symbols, letters(In lower and upper case), figures etc. This is done to make sure that every user preciously guides his or her passwords (keys) carefully.

Third Rule: We cannot retrieve your password
Fourth Rule: If you can remember your password, it is not safe.

Sixth Rule: Don't tell anyone your passwords.
Seventh Rule: Always backup your passwords.
OWNER KEY
The owner key is the most essential of all the keys. It is used to change every other keys including the owner key itself. It is advisable to secure it offline, as it is essential for recovering a compromised account.
ACTIVE KEY
This key has a very delicate few roles it plays; it is used for transfer of funds, power up and powering down, witness voting, profile updates, conversion of Steem Dollar and placing a market order.
POSTING KEY
As the name implies; it is used for posting of contents, commenting, voting, resteeming, follows, account mute, editing, deleting. It is advisable to limit the rate of use of the posting key, to avoid a compromised account.
MEMO KEY
This key is basically used to send an encrypted message. It is also used to see any encrypted message sent to you privately.
