Achievement 2- Basic Security on Steemit

Hi steemians my name is @eno-obong3, and am very exited to be part of this platform which helps to educate us on how to gain rewards by writing content from the first achievement I explain myself and here it will be how to secure the account by writing on what I know about the basic security on steemit.

Question 1

Have you retrieved all your keys on steemit

All my steemit keys once I downloaded it was saved and this was done by writing it out carefully into a neat booklet and also kept it at a place that is not wet, I dis this with up to 3 books.

Question 2

Do you know the functions and restrictions of each key

After going through the terms and conditions, I also ask my mentor and I was carefully tod on what each keys does and this will be explained below.

• Master key
  The master key is the first key that I encountered when signing up it was the key that I use in getting all the other keys and by this it means that the master key is a key that is being used in generating other keys in the steemit platform.

• Private posting key
  This is the type of key that is used when I want to make a post, I cam also use this keys in doing different social functions such as posting, commenting, voting etc

• Owner key
  This key is being used when an individual want to do reseting of all his steemit keys or changing of steemit keys due to his personal reasons.

• private active key
  Keys use when individual want to do financial things which may involve transaction without this key you can not complete your financial transactions on steemit wallet

• Memo key
  This is also a key in steemit though it is mostly left for the individual to fill in by themselves reasons why the choose to perform any transaction.

Question 3

How do you plan to keep your master password

I will keep my master key safe by doing the same as I did for other keys I will write it down in a neat paper and keep it in a water free zone

Question 4

Do you know how to transfer your steem token to another steem user account?

Yes, transferring of steem maybe for different purposes but first the individual need to login to steemit wallet because it is here that transaction are being done.

Once you login you will have to click on the arrow so as to see different options

After the option display click on transfer and fill in the individual you are transferring to and the amount with memo after that neks

After the next a key which is a private active key is being required for transaction to be completed.

Question 5

Do you know how to power up your steem

Yes, just as earlier explain you will first login to your steemit wallet but here you will click on power up

After that the next page is for you to insert the steem amount to be powered up and memo is not needed

After that finalized the transaction sith your private active key

After doing all this, I must say that I have really been educated.
