Hello everyone, good morning from these parts. I hope you all are having quite a great day so far.
Today, after reviewing the content etiquette to have an idea of what is expected, I'll be sharing with you guys my Achievement 3 Post, the content etiquette post.
What Is Plagiarism?
Plagiarism can be defined as an act of copying someone else's creative work and presenting it as one's own, without permission from the author or creator of the said work.
Unprofessionalism Of Plagiarism
Although plagiarism has always been associated to academic works, it actually does have real life consequences.
Plagiarism is a serious ethical offense punishable by several laws across the globe. It is taken to be a breach of the ethics of journalism and a severe violation of academic integrity—subject to fines, suspension, penalties, expulsion from work or school and even serving jail term.
Types Of Plagiarism
-Patchwork Plagiarism
This involves taking someone else's work and presenting it as one's own without properly citing the owner.
-Complete Plagiarism
This happens when someone tries to submit another person's entire research paper without proper citation.
-Self Plagiarism
This happens when a person steals his own work, and recycles it to use it again instead of creating an entirely new work.
-Accidental Plagiarism
Happens when a person copies a work and doesn't cite the owner, improperly cites the owner or doesn't use quotation marks unintentionally.
-Source-based Plagiarism
This type of plagiarism involves cases of misleading source(s) of the said work(s).
-Direct Plagiarism
This type of plagiarism involves the culprit stealing another's work and giving it it word for word as his own.
Steps To Eliminate Plagiarism
- use plagiarism checkers to review your work
- always quote your source
- carry out enough of your own research to improve genuineness/uniqueness of your work
- develop interest for what you're working on
- present your own unique ideas

At first, we recommend you to continue making Achievement posts in Newcommers community and review this tutorial with the answers for the most important questions. Don’t you worry if for the first few days or even weeks you will be making the mistakes or writing great quality posts without expected income. Give yourself the time for learning all the stuff and being discovered by other users :) Write every day (or almost every day) and you will surely become successful at some point.
Before you will start writing, you have to select the communities where you want to be active. I recommend you to choose those of them that are related to your hobbies and, obviously, not too small. Personaly, I’d select any community with more than 75 users, but it’s your choice. To make it easier, I’m sending the link to the complete list of active communities on Steemit (searcher does not work well, so it’s better to use that list instead)
Finally, I would love to invite you to my own community Steem-Travelers. It’s all about traveling, culture, cuisine from all around the world, traditions et cetera. Plenty of great content to read and comment, plenty of interesting posts that you cound write there as well. We always appreciate the best quality content, we are putting a lot of attention to the quality of the community announcements, graphics of the community as well as additional programs, like Guide with Travelers where you can offer your services as the local tour guide for some STEEM or Stay with Travelers where you can offer your apartment, room or bed in a shared room to rent for STEEM, a bit ‘Couchsurfing style’.
Enjoy Steemit and feel free to ask me any questions if you don’t know something!
