BASIC STEEM SECURITY

The primary aim of Basic Steem Security is to keep your account safe and prevent intruders and mismanagement. Therefore,basi steem security speaks of pratical ways to help protect and secure your account.

When creating your steemit account,A personal private and public keys will be sent to you. I got all my steemit keys and keot them safe having studied their use .
Here is a summary of the use of the Private Keys:

1.Posting Key:It is used for accessing you account,posting,voting,resteeming and commenting as well.

1. Actice Key: It can also be used for voting,converting steedollar,to power up ordown transactions, to place a market order,update profile. When there is a need to transfer funds, the Active key is applied. It is used for very delicate task.

3.Owner Key:This key is majorly used whenyour account have been tampered with and needs to be retrieved. Hence this key is highly important and should be saved offline.

1. Memo Key: When there is a need to encrypt and decrypt while transferring funds, you need to use the memo keys and dont forget to use the pound/# sign before it.

Master Password:This password is used to generate other keys and is gotten when you sign up.

KEEPING MY MASTER PASSWORD SAFE

The master password is hyper important and entails it is kept safely especially where it wont be forgotten or misplaced. I kept my master password by copying it into my personal diary, saving it in my email and other phone documents. I would personally advice that you do same and not disclose your information to anyone for safe keeping.

One major important thing you need to learn on steemit us how to transfer your steem token to another steem user account. Well,heres how to do that:

1. Login to your steem account with ur username and posting key

2. Click on your image at the top and then select wallet. This will take you to your steem wallet

3. There are 3 vertical lines at the top right of that page click on it and then click on sign in. Sign in with ur username and active key and click login

4. Click on the down arrow beside steem and select transfer

5. Input the username of the recipient account and how much you want to send then click next to complete the transaction.



To convert your steem to steem power,you will need to power up. This is simply done by clicking on the same down arrow close to steem and select power up,type in the amount in the box provided and click power up.
